Up until last week I was all about Lady Gaga -- her music, her style, her makeup -- just found her to be so refreshingly different. Now though her stock is plummeting in my book. These geisha lips are not doing it for me and her outfits (and that tea cup!), are loosing their innovative edge and now just seem to be over-the-top for shock-value. That said the geisha lip-look looks fierce on the runway, I just don't think Gaga can pull it off. I actually think the lips maker her look drunk! I'm all about experimenting with makeup, but this is one look that I think should be saved for the runway. What do you think snob or slob?
MAC is always on the cutting edge of cosmetics and great fun to play with but sometimes the colors are just a bit too outrageous to wear unless you dance on poles or work at the circus. The latest collection, however, is beautiful and very wearable. Powders, shadows, lipsticks and glosses come in the prettiest of pinks-- softly subtle to bright and bold-- pick your poison. This is a limited edition on sale from April 9th til it sells out so get yours now! (Jump for more) Check MAC website here.
Shea Terra Organics introduces 2 new organic lip butters, the Shea Propolis Organic Shea Lip Butter and the Menthe Orange Organic Shea Lip Butter. The extraordinary quality of these products in not only in its effectiveness but in what is achieved by you buying them. The ingredients used in these lip balms are from self empowering projects in Africa who aid women and children living below the poverty level. The honey and beeswax used are from a project that supports an effort in Uganda that teaches women beekeeping skills to sustain their own economy and lives. The wild plum and tsamma melon oils used are from a Namibian project that supports over four thousand gatherers and farmers and helps families send their children to school. The Shea Propolis Organic Shea Lip Butter, $4, is a super strength lip balm for cracked lips and helps to protect against cold and sun. The Menthe Orange Organic Shea Lip Butter is a minty lip balm that soothes your dry lips and gives you long lasting fresh breath. How great is that? I bought both by the dozens, not only to help the cause but I can totally benefit from them! I hate chewing gum so the Menthe is perfect and my lips get so dry and cracked they start bleeding, which the Propolis balm would be great for. Angelina Jolie is a huge fan!

I got a text message from Bobbi Brown over the weekend from Morocco, where she is on a biking trip. She told me she'd been in Paris the week before to see editors and check out her new boutique there. My first question was "What bag are you carrying on this fabulous adventure?" To which she responded, "I will be biking with my Patagonia green packpack. Had my square black prada handbag in Paris. You know I'm a classic Prada girl, with an odd birkin or two or three or... " I was going to ask her what beauty products she had with her but I am betting she is traveling with her new Customize.Simplify.Organize system!
"The Customize.Simplify.Organize system is designed for women to customize their makeup and be their own makeup artists. It's an easy way to take less, but have more." Bobbi told us.
Beginning in April, Bobbi introduces this new collection which is designed to work with her customizable palette system. For the first time ever, take your personalized foundation, blush, eye shadow and lip products with you wherever you go in a convenient compact! (Jump for new colors!)

Clé de Peau has been on my radar since I first tried the iconic "La Creme" years ago. I had never tried its color collection, however, until the Beauty Event last week at Neiman Marcus North Park. I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Clé de Peau National Make Up consultant Kyriaki Savrani that day and she helped me pick out make up colors (is there anything more fun than playing with make up all day?).
A native of Greece, make up artist Kyriaki Savrani's resume extends across all corridors of the beauty industry. The sophisticated beauty got her start in 1992 while attending art school in Paris and assisting Stephen Marais. Since then Kyriaki has built an extensive list celebrity clientele (Nicole Kidman, Naomi Campbell, Anne Hathaway, Audrey Tautou and many others) and work with designers such as Chanel, Valentino, Dior and Karl Lagerfeld. Yet no matter how "haute" the couture, Kyriaki brings her own unique perspective to her craft.
During our interview, I learned a lot about the brand and its devoted followers. Kate Moss apparently swipes a tube of the uber popular Extra Silky lipstick-$50 everytime they do her make up. I wonder if I can get away with same at the counter? I'm all about new shade 118 (Lily of the Nile)-- it's a soft pinkish beige that looks really natural! Plus the formula has a shine to it so you don't need lip gloss. Kyriaki declared that the era of heavy gooey gloss that bubble when you talk is over! A hint of shine is much more sexy though she is all about the matte lipstick (in red no less!)
Another exciting newly formulated product is the Cream Foundation. ($118). It now comes with a twist applicator that gives you the exact dosage you need (in the shape of the Cle de peau logo) so you won't waste a drop of this amazingly velvety foundation. Kyriaki put O10 on me (at lunch she predicted I'd be O10 by looking at my chest. Apparently the chest is the perfect spot to match foundation!) and it was the perfect shade for me. (Just a warning, you'll read the word "perfect" a lot in this post.) I was with a friend before going to Neiman Marcus and told her I was interviewing Kyriaki and she squealed, "I love the Cream Foundation, it's all I wear! Tell them it's my favorite brand!"

When I went to Paris for the S/S 2009 shows Emanuel Ungaro was one of my favorites -- the colors and styling always put a big smile on my face! This season however I'm having a hard time deciding what to make of the two-toned lips MAC makeup artist Tom Pecheux is responsible for. He painted the models' lips fuchsia then added bright orange just to the top lips. It's obviously very 80s inspired, but Glamour Magazine had a chance to speak with Pecheux and he said that he did his best to make the look modern by pairing the bold lipstick with a bare-looking face. This kind of reminds me of that episode of Sex and the City where SJP goes to LA and wears the same shoe, but in different colors on each of her feet..loved that (and have done that myself!), not so sure about this. Would you wear this out in public? I vote snob for the runway, slob otherwise.
When it comes to lip gloss, you can definitely save yourself some money and go with your favorite drugstore brands. But you don't have to compromise on performance, my favorite is the IMAN Luxury Lip Shine Gloss in a glittery bronze called "Edgy" that has great coverage and lasts for hours. The color is intense without it feeling gunky and thick. You can wear this by itself for a real gold tone or use it as a top coat over your favorite reddish hue for depth and glamour. Give your evening look the impact, not your wallet. At Drugstore.com
for $9.99.
I feel like every lip gloss I pick-up these days has some kind of plumping effect. Come summer we'll all have sexy pouts I guess! I just wrote about Celeb Plum Lips a little bit ago and I've just tried a new gloss that can give small lips a little boost. It's called gloLip Plumper and it's from glominerals. The good thing about this one is that you can easily layer it under another lip color without having to deal with a sticky mess. This is nice if you just want a plump lip while still using your favorite gloss color. I put a small dab of gloLip Plumper in 'Very Cherry' ($16) in the center of my lip and then layered my CustomBlend Prescriptives gloss over it (though they have a clear shade that would work better if you're looking to stay true to your fave gloss). The formulation is lightweight, but beware of that tingling sensation which I still have trouble dealing with! Every time I use a lip plumper I have this urge to cover my lips in Vaseline because of that tingling sensation that I always get! How do you feel about lip plumpers?

Photos from people.com
Before I comment on Angelina Jolie's wonderfully plump lips, I'm going to preface by saying that I've always been on Team Aniston! Still, there's no denying that both she and Megan Fox have covetable sexy pouts. Luckily for us ladies with lips on the small-side, there's a new line of plumping lip glosses hitting Space NK and Scoop from Purple Lab and much to my surprise, they did plump my lips a bit! It's pretty instant actually -- a few seconds after you apply any one of the six shades ($20 each), you'll feel a tingly sensation from the Vitamin B3 in the gloss which is what stimulates the blood flow to the lips. Personally I'm not a fan of the tingle (it feels kind of like that sensation you get when you eat too many salty chips:-) ), but if you're self-conscious about your thin lips it's a small price to pay. Plus Purple Lab's lip glosses contain Hoodia Gordonii Extract, an appetite suppressant which I think is a clever idea. Unfortunately I was still hungry after applying the lips glosses. In fact if anything I was more hungry because the glosses actually taste good (especially the Red Sole shade which was inspired by Christian Louboutin shoes!). I don't mind though -- my boyfriend is always complaining that my glosses "smell weird," so the fact that he liked 'Red Sole' as much as I did was enough for me. On a side note, I usually only use glosses with brush applicators because I've found that foam applicators leave my lips icky and sticky, but I didn't actually have a problem with this foam one.

Black lips have been discussed on Beauty Snob before and I've had my reservations about them, but I have to say now that they've hit the Fall 2009 runways -- from Rachel Roy in New York City to House of Holland in London -- I'm starting to kinda like it! I still feel like I could never pull this look off myself and I think it only works if you have jet black hair (Aggy is kind of making me cringe in the picture above!). Also I don't think it works if it's paired with dark clothing or black nail polish -- too depressing and goth! I'm curious if celebrities/public will catch-on and if this will become a street-style trend in the coming months. What do you think -- would you wear black lipstick or gloss?

First up is the "Lip Drink"-- my hubby and son have taken it from me for their golf outings so I need to get another one. It's SPF 15 so I am relieved they're using it. It has the slightest hint of lemon and herbs and makes lips smooth, immediately. Jane Iredale LipDrink Lip Balm SPF 15
Next up is the 24kt Gold Dust for $12-- if you already have the Cotton Candy blush you know that the real flecks of gold give you a flawless sheen like not other. This may be used all over your body and you won't glitter like the Strip, I promise-- it's subtle! This will flatter any skin tone no matter how light/dark your complexion is! Jane Iredale 24-Karat Gold Dust
Lastly, the Eye Highlighter pencil that I now keep in my bag to perk me up mid day. I don't drink coffee nor tea (caffeine intolerance) so I depend on my products to give me that zing and zip at 5pm. I use this all over my face actually, it lightens hollow areas and gives me a youth like fullness. Use the white tip on the cupid bow of your lips and on the inner corners of the eyes. You'll see what I mean! Jane Iredale Eye Highlighter Pencil, White/Pink $15
Cheap fun but amazing results!
The eagerly anticipated Hello Kitty collaboration from MAC arrives at stores today. There is a "Mild" Kitty collection of muted shades and a "Wild" Kitty collection of bold and neon hues. Choose your poison and your Hello Kitty tote/make up bags/accessories along with a 14" Hello Kitty plush doll so you can overdose in Kitty style. I am a bit old to be playing with Hello Kitty (don't ask why there is a pink Hello Kitty beach cruiser in my garage!) but a glittery lip gloss or two will keep me young and happy.
The icon adored by millions will arrive at MAC counters today with its limited edition collection of color, finishes, glitter, and shine! Or check out MAC Cosmetics online. What do you think? Is it normal for grown women like me to love Hello Kitty?
The new Bobbi Brights collection has every shade under the sun; it is a range of 35 matte shadows in pinks and greens to blues and purples, and includes four new shades of Creamy Lip Color. Also new to Bobbi

Dame Edna is the muse for MAC's post-holiday collection this year and the flamboyant lady, played by Australian comedian Barry Humphries, was recently on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to discuss her upcoming collection with MAC. The line will be available in North America beginning December 26th and internationally January 2009. The packaging is quirky and will please any Dame Edna fans (you'll find her signature glasses all over the place). That said, like the MAC Hello Kitty collection I'm not a huge fan of these kinds of collaborations and rather my makeup look sleek and simple. I couldn't ever imagine myself pulling-out a lilac compact from my bag that was accented with outlandish glasses and glitter! For those that go for this collection though you'll find heavy-on-the-lilac lipstick/lipglass, eye shadow, highlight powder and nail lacquers. If Dame Edna isn't your style go for classic MAC with the MAC Chill collection where you'll find no frills packaging and lips of Naked Frost, eyes in Arctic Grey, and a deep black velvety new Penultimate Eye Liner. More details on this and on the MAC Dame Edna line after the Jump!
A little bit ago I mentioned in passing my love for Bourjois' lip gloss and a reader asked me to do a post on it. I oblige! And getting ready to do the story I looked at Sephora.com for a link to the lip gloss I love so much and to my pleasant surprise Sephora has marked-down Bourjois Effet 3D High Shine Lip Glosses
I was so excited to read in WWD that Kanebo is gearing-up to launch Sensai Colours, a new treatment makeup line consisting of 22 eye, lip and cheek items with formulas that draw on water and silk to address moisturization and impart a silk-like glow! Sensai Colours lip items consist of two ranges: Lasting Treatment Rouge and Deep Moist Shine Rouge. Lasting Treatment is offered in 18 shades and is formulated to provide long-staying, vivid color with pigments coated with kanten, a jellylike substance obtained from red seaweed and often used as a thickener in Japanese food. The Deep Moist Shine items aim to moisturize lips with a translucent film of color with Phyto Volumising Oil. It is available in 12 shades. There will also be a silky lip gloss in two shades, a lip base with SPF 15, three eye shadow palettes each with four shadow choices, five cheek blush, two eyebrow pencils, two liquid eyeliners, two eyeliner pencils, six lip liner pencils, and a fragrance-free gentle makeup remover. After the jump see photos of Scarlett Johansson in the upcoming film, The Spirit, where she's decked-out in Kanebo!
If you have a jet setting friend who never knows where she'll wake up next, grab her a box of "The Overnighter" from Benefit cosmetics. Tucked in the package is also a pair of Hanky Panky underwear, you know, just in case. The sleepover set includes a mini compact of everything she'll need to look fresh when she heads off to work in the morning. 'California kissin'' lip gloss, 'eyecon' treatment for dark circles, 'benetint' for a well rested glow, and 'some kind of gorgeous' cream to powder foundation. This is also great for your flight attendant girlfriends! $38 at Benefit Cosmetics.com or your local Benefit counter.

I always want to pull of the sexy red lips, but it's so not me! I almost always wear a very pale pink gloss -- love Bourjois and Prescriptives Custom Blend -- both are non-sticky which is my #1 pet peeve with glosses! When it comes to lipsticks however I'm loving some of the celebs going ultra glam with their deep red lips, but there are definitely some that pull it off better than others. I think the only way this looks works is if you're going for something sleek and put-together. I'm not a fan of the disheveled hair that Courtney Cox paired with her lip color. I think it cheapens her look. Jennifer Lopez's lips are just a shade too deep for me, while I think Madonna (despite the awfulness that is the Louis Vuitton ensemble that she's wearing), look magnifique! Share your thoughts on who's snob and who is slob when it comes to pulling-off this trend!

One of my all time favorite celebs is Jennifer Aniston. She has amazing skin and a body to die for (if you must know, I always tell my trainer Lara to "Make my body rock like Jennifer Aniston!). Jen works hard for that body (with a mix of yoga, pilates and running) and despite turmoil in her personal life, she's always carried herself with grace and dignity. She's Vogue's cover girl this month and we found the products that Gucci Westman used on her for that carefree California girl glow. Have to say I am not crazy about the photo they chose for the cover (red dress upper right). I prefer the more casual one below right (in shorts sitting with knee up- tres sexy!). To get Jen's beach chic look:

This is the best palette for both bag and beauty snobs alike. You get the super stylish Givenchy grommet clutch plus the palette of gorgeous shadows, blushes and lip color! I've always loved the Givenchy prism shadows and powders, they're easy to blend to create the depth of colors you desire.
The prisms also last forever, my last Givenchy bronzing prism lasted me two years. I know, I know, you're supposed to toss them after a year but I was told toss it if it smells and since mine didn't, I kept it.
The Very Couture Palette is $65 and it's one of my favorite Holiday gift sets this year! Someone call Santa! Givenchy at Sephora.com
Hi Beauty Snobs!! I got an email from one of you asking for a recommendation for a good chapstick, and specifically what I thought about Japanese beauty brand Chidoriya. When I turned 16 I had two drawers of lip gloss and every flavor of Bonnie Bell on the market... so I definitely feel qualified to recommend Chidoriya Lip Balm to you! I was so impressed with the luxurious, silky texture of this balm that comes from a Camellia Oil base and has a light citrus smell. I put it on every night before bed now and have been waking up with the softest lips I think I have ever had! Chidoria originated in Kyoto, Japan and got its start by making beauty products for Geisha and Maiko girls. As the brand grew, so did Chidoria's clientèle, and now is happy to be introducing their product line to American beauty aficionados! When you buy the lip balm, you can also choose to order an adorable little bag for it (sort of looks like a wierd strawberry?). I can't even tell you how happy I have been with it, since I can wrap it around my finger at a bar and not worry about bringing my purse (can't even tell you how many lip glosses I have lost from my back pocket). Chidoria has many other products like Blotting paper, and if your feeling brave, Nightingale dropping powder =) They ship VERY quickly and pack their products beautifully, definitely worth a space amongst your beauty essentials!

I am going to Bobbi Brown's studio in SoHo to interview Bobbi and have my make up done tomorrow morning. Needless to say I am beyond excited; I've been obsessed with Bobbi since college and am so looking forward to meeting her! In addition to preparing questions for the Make Up Guru, I've been testing out her new products in order to discuss them with her. I just got three things from the limited edition Holiday collection (shown above). My favorite is the "Night Sky" longwear eye palette compact with two gel liners and two shadows, each has a cap so it stays mess free. I hate when wet liners smudge on the compact mirror. I also got the lip gloss trio shades ranging from beige, bronze to sparkling pink- yummy! The double decker lip and eye palette are flattering on any skintone and is perfect for traveling (yes, I am taking it to New York with me today though there is a hurricane and hail so I don't know when I'll get there) and touch ups inflight. These limited edition items are fabulous stocking stuffers- there is something for everyone on my gift-giving list from the "Multi-Taskers" to the "Glamour Girls." (I am not giving any names so my girlfriends can be surprised when they receive theirs!) Check out the entire Holiday collection on Bobbi Brown.com-- they won't last long so order asap!
I thought it would be fun to let our readers ask Bobbi a few questions-- so if you have any questions for Bobbi Brown please leave them in comments!

YSL Beaute has launched its new lipstick with Kate Moss (if anyone doubted her staying power as a model, think again!). It just won the Allure Best Bright Lipstick Award for "Rouge Volupte- #10 Provocative Pink". The jury said "as smooth as silk, this hot pink makes our eyes seem brighter and our cheek rosier" .... very Voluptuous! I was just telling Couture Snob Heidi the other day that I am going to seek a bright pink lipstick for TV appearances, I feel like my nude shades are too washed out for the small screen :) I can't wait to try the Rouge Volupte next week in front of the camera in New York.
On Oct 29th, YSL Beaute website is featuring an exciting art contest : "Create your own YSL lipstick-inspired piece of art !". The winners will get a free ticket to NYC, a personalized makeup session with YSL artist and a selection of top products to bring back home. Check it out at YSL.com

When iconic desig house Ungaro collaborates with iconic cosmetic house MAC, the result is nothing short of spectacular. Live from backstage at the Fall 2008 Collections, It-Boy designer, Esteban Cortazar, and M·A·C have come together to create a special colour collection as dreamy, refined, and, well, Parisienne as anything this side of the Avenue Georges V, exclusively ours! A limited edition for lips, eye and cheeks chez Ungaro.... only for MAC. At Maccosmetics.com on October 9th. (Jump to see entire line!)

Lip Gloss in Bare Vinyl-- it is inspired by the high patent shine of Michael Kors accessories. A nude and sheer gloss that imparts natural color with a sensual an shimmering shine. It is flattering for all skin tones and will add a touch of understated glamour.
Perfume Rollerball-- Micahel Kors signature scent is an intoxicating white floral fragrance that has become a modern classic.
Beauty snob warning: Don't mistake the rollerball side for gloss, I'd hate to find out what the perfume tastes like!
I really like saying shimmering nudes, it rolls off the tongue so seductively! But what I like even better is using shimmering nudes, as in Bobbi's latest enticing palette. For cool autumn nights what could be sexier than a bit of shimmer on your face before the kiss of summer disappears? Inspired by Bobbi's love of nude makeup, the Shimmering Nudes Palette flatters all and contains the perfect mix of seven cool and warm nude tones in both flat, sheer shimmer and high shimmer shades. The palette includes four new and five exclusive eye shadows that will illuminate and define. Bobbi has also added four new colors for fall to her popular Creamy Lip Color collection. Infused with hints of pink and gold, each of the nude-toned lip shades is designed to complement the Shimmer Nudes Palette ($50). Go to Bobbi Brown.com to order.

I always hoped I’d grow up to be so confident and careless that I’d leave my house with nothing on my face besides a natural sun-kissed glow 8-) While that dream hasn’t exactly panned out, I’ve discovered you can go low-maintenance with your makeup and still look great using some key products. For a list of product suggestions to show off your natural glow a la the beautiful Christina Applegate, see below!
For the Base: Smashbox Compact Anti-Shine ($28) this is great for oil control. It absorbs shine leaving your face with a natural, clean look. It also contains tea tree oil, aloe, and vitamin E to fight acne and sooth your skin, if however you’re getting ready for a truly special occasion get an airbrush tan! I tried it for the first time last week when I went to Sundara ($78, full body; $30 face only) and it’s long lasting (about a week), even, and natural looking. They customize a color palette specific to your skin tone/what you’re looking for and can even highlight/shade certain areas to make you appear trimmer– just make sure you don’t sweat/shower within the first 8 hours or you’ll get a little streaky (I learned the hard way…eech!).
For your Cheeks: To bring out your natural glow NARS Blushes ($25) come in an range of translucent, natural shades, each with a subtle amount of pink to highlight your complexion…irresistible:)
More after the jump!
I made the most amazing discovery when I was out in the Hamptons the other weekend. I was at this club Dune which is one of the hottest spots out there (Memorial Weekend I spotted Leonardo DiCaprio and Bar Refaeli!), and I'm sitting at this table when next to me one of my girlfriends busts out this Lip Gloss from ModelCo that has built-in lights and a mirror!! When in any crowded or dim space you can imagine how great something like this is -- not to mention how high-tech chic and glam she looked!!:) It's been a longtime since I've been this excited about a line. ModelCo is an Australian-based brand started by a former model agent and it's made, they say, for the style conscious and time-crunched woman, which I can totally see in their product line-up which is full of quick-fixing and multi-purpose products. You can browse their products here and jump for a rundown of my favorites!!

I am really into make up lately, even more than usual. I think what's changed is I no longer strive for the no make up make up look and I am now embracing color and shine! I want to have fun with make up before I get too old and my skin fills with cracks and ridges so that I can't wear make up anymore so now I've reverted to the psyche of a 5 year old where less is not more, more is more! I love playing with my make up right before bed, too. It is a strange ritual but one I have practiced for years. I think it's probably because I am about to wash my face anyway so it's a good time to experiment. Who has time to play around with emerald eyeshadow in the morning and have to wash and start over if it doesn't work out? I tried explaining that to my hubby but he just laughs and says "just admit you like looking at yourself!" Well, okay, that too :)
I am really excited about the new palette from Bobbi Brown, Chic Shimmer, look at those colors! I will be totally ready for Fall with Bobbi’s new Metallics Collection! On counter in August, Bobbi’s Metallic Eye Shadow is back by popular demand in 17 shades. Featuring a broad shade range including rich bold colors and pastels, the high-shimmer, high-pigment formula creates a sexy and sophisticated look. Color applies evenly and stays crease-free for all-day wear. Individual shadows can also be popped into Bobbi’s new customizable palettes (which I can not live without, I have several and pop in different shades depending where I travel to).
On counter in October, Bobbi presents her new Metallic Lip Color- the newest innovation in shimmer. Featuring high-shine emollients and light-reflective pearls, it will leave lips with a soft creamy feel and medium coverage and will be available in 15 multi-dimensional shades. I keep about 8 lip glosses daily in my make up bag, what's a few more, right? Check Bobbi Brown.com in August for the release!

New lip gloss addiction alert! I received samples of the ultra moisturizing superbalm from Clinique and tossed it in my travel vanity case (I have to admit that I have not used anything from Clinique since I was very young). When I arrived in Paris after a very long flight, I discovered I forgot my favorite lipbalm from Fresh- Sugar. I was about to run to the pharmacy for chapstick when I saw the Moisturizing Superblam in my bag from Clinique. I swiped a dollop on my lips and do you know what I used the entire 17 days in Paris in London? That's right, I am officially addicted! I always thought of it as lip gloss, not realizing it works better than anything to moisturize, smooth and add shine to my lips! The colors they sent me were great but now I want more more more, so I am going to the Clinique counter tomorrow to get a few other shades. This is so perfect for the summer because it's light and sheer, it doesn't stay on as long as other kinds but it just feels so good on! You can also order online for $13.50 At Clinique.com
This July, Bobbi introduces her Mauve Collection- a must-have for those desiring definition and polish without looking overdone. Inspired by Ali McGraw’s vintage look in the classic film “Love Story,” the collection’s range of mauve shades will flatter every skintone. I have never liked the word "mauve" but it is such a flattering color on me (and most of my friends). A subtle brownish pink that adds just enough color without overwhelming, it's the shade of the moment and Bobbi's palette is just sublime. It was sitting on my table when I arrived home last night (what a great treat to come home to after 17 days of traveling!) and I used it this morning to liven up my jet lagged and hungover sallow complexion (I have never drank so much champagne and wine in my life!). Within a few strokes and I'm all rosy and glowing again. Don't you just love the magic of make up?
Bobbi's collection features the new, limited-edition Mauve Face Palette in addition to several new products for lips and eyes, including: Black Mauve Shimmer Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner ($19)-- we are obsessed with Bobbi's gel liners and this color is really cool! Black Pearl and Iced Mauve Shimmer Lip Glosses ($19), Mauve Lip Gloss, and Heather Mauve and Pale Mauve Lip Colors ($22). You must try this out next month when it hits the Bobbi counters-- it's now one of my favorite palette combos! Mauve Palette above $55. At Bobbi Brown.com and stores worldwide.

I usually stick with glosses because, most days, I want a touch of shine without any added color so, typically I wouldn't even have tried stila's SPF 20 shine lip color ($22) in the Georgina shade, but I happen to be looking for some makeup to complement a new pair of Stella McCartney red pumps I just got to go with a vintage Chloe wedding dress I bought (yes wedding dress! But other than it being long and white it really doesn't look like one:) )...Anyway,Georgina is the perfect color (no traces of orange or pink, yet not too deep of a red), and since this outfit is for a party out in Southampton I'm loving that it has SPF, however what really sealed the deal for me was the smell -- vanilla!
Besides going on smooth and being relatively lightweight I loved the smell...so many lipsticks and even glosses are sticky, smelly messes so this one is a nice change. The package also says that it has Vitamins A, C and E:)

I’m curious about how many people bother to exfoliate their lips? I have done it off and on since high school, and I found that regular treatments can make a world of difference for your kisser! Of the products that are out there, I can say (with confidence) that this is the BEST one I have ever tried. What really sets this product apart is its genius combination of ingredients, which Sara mixed together in her kitchen when she first began to make it for herself. The exfoliating agent is sugar, and the binding agent is oil based- which means that your lips stay hydrated during the whole process and after. I got the Peppermint one and my lips are hooked! For all you lip gloss junkies- this will make your products go on silky smooth! They have six flavors to choose from, YUM!

I have to say I was predisposed to not like sukicream. I have a pet-peeve about cheap gimmicks and something about sukicream not using capitalization in any of their product descriptions or packaging just reeked -- cheap gimmick -- to me. Is that crazy??
Anyway, that aside I tried the sukicolor Pure Cream Satin (note the capitalization!), which is meant for both cheeks and lips. Personally 2-in-1 products never work for me (the worst are those 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioners!) and this product was no different. It was a little too waxy for my cheeks and didn't blend in easily so I ended-up looking like a clown when I tried the product on my cheeks! It worked better on my lips, but it had a potent chemical-like smell so I took it off just as fast as I put it on:( Luckily, I had one of my Bourjois Effect 3D High Shine Lip Glosses (love #4 Rose Emblematic) nearby!

Philosophy sent me the latest in their yummilicious body sets, Surfer Girl, last month. I generally give the sets away to our readers but this one perked my interest. Not many (if any) people know about my secret obsession with surfers. I moved to Southern California when I was 16 and spent years going to the beach almost daily. I had a great tan (while using lots of sunscreen and hats ) and dated cute surfer boys but what I really wanted was to be that cool surfer chick who drove up with her surf board on the top of her car, shaking her long tangled sun bleached hair as she zipped up her wetsuit and bravely paddling out to sea without fear of sun, sharks, or drowning (all of which I am deathly afraid of). I remember watching the surfer girls with envy as they caught the perfect wave and the exhilaration on their faces as they were brought back to shore. Each of those memories are tinged with the smell of sea, fruity surf wax and glistening skin. Which is what the Surfer Girl exfoliating shower gel and lotion offers! The products smell delicious and leave your skin with a hint of gold shimmer. There is also a sparkling gold lipgloss that I've been using on top of my usual-- it gives me just the golden tinge I need to face the summer days. Philosophy Surfer Girl Set $35 at Sephora.
Mmmm…. Lick your lips! B Glossy lip gloss is more than 85% organic with no chemical preservatives. It's made with sweet peppermint to give your lips a tingly pick me up, which is my favorite part. Your lips are actually being conditioned while your wearing it! It is nice and soft, and I love that it comes in the pot instead of the tube. How many of you have left your tube in the car and had a pressurized mess on your hands? B Glossy Organic Lip Gloss is what I would consider the perfect mating of chapstick and lip gloss. Enough color to stain your lips on its own, and glossy enough to make your lips look lush and juicy! I actually got three out of four of their selection, and may be placing another order soon!
-4 Shades: Natural; Ruby’s Red; Every Blond’s Pink; Copper Penny

Now that the warm weather is upon us, it’s time to put the cool, winter colors away and break out your warm, summery colors--beautiful bronzes, golds and corals. Just in time for summer, Dior is releasing its Goldrush collection. The collection features four new shades of Addict High Shine lipstick and 18-Karat versions of the 5-color eyeshadow palette and Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss in tan, shimmery gold and coral hues.
The collection also includes a limited-edition medallion that contains an all-over golden glow highlighter for the eyes, cheeks and lips. The compact is adorned with champagne crystals and a satin ribbon, what a fabulous little trinket to wear around the neck or tie on your bag! I love multi-purpose products like this. Beauty Snob tip- apply a dab of this on your bottom lip over your favorite lipstick or gloss. $55 at Dior counters nationwide, Christian Dior also at Sephora.com. Post by Beauty Snob Sharon:

With summer just around the corner, I am on the lookout for makeup to give my face that effortless sun-kissed glow, like I just got back from a relaxing week of sipping champagne on a yacht in St. Tropez (wouldn’t that be nice!). I am loving Chanel’s new summer colors. Chanel just got a new creative director for makeup, Peter Philips, and he is whipping up some wonderful bronzes, golds and shimmery tons all set to hit stores in July.
I have a feeling that Chanel’s $30 gold nail polish, a limited edition shade called Gold Fiction, will be this summer’s equivalent to Vamp and Black Satin. It comes in an opaque gold case and Christine Dagousset, who is the executive vice president of Fragrance and Beauté for Chanel, said that high-end pigments were used to get the color and finish just right, hence the shade retailing for $10 over the regular $20 price tag. Not that the price tag will stop Chanel devotees from buying the new shade, but for $20 I thought I was already getting high-end pigments!?
In any case, there are plenty of other stand-outs in this new collection including Facettes D’Or, a finely milled gold loose powder that is said to read as a subtle glow on the skin ($56), Gold Light Glossimer lip gloss ($26), Rouge Hydrabase lipstick shades in copper, plum and coral (each $27), and a quad eye shadow palette with gold, coffee, ivory and dark green eye colors ($56).
I have always had a weakness for Chanel. Everything from their soft brushes to their sleek, black packaging brings a smile to my face so, I can’t wait to hit the beach (Chanel sunglasses in tow!), decked out in these fabulous new shades.
