When it comes to lip gloss, you can definitely save yourself some money and go with your favorite drugstore brands. But you don't have to compromise on performance, my favorite is the IMAN Luxury Lip Shine Gloss in a glittery bronze called "Edgy" that has great coverage and lasts for hours. The color is intense without it feeling gunky and thick. You can wear this by itself for a real gold tone or use it as a top coat over your favorite reddish hue for depth and glamour. I feel like every lip gloss I pick-up these days has some kind of plumping effect. Come summer we'll all have sexy pouts I guess! I just wrote about Celeb Plum Lips a little bit ago and I've just tried a new gloss that can give small lips a little boost. It's called gloLip Plumper and it's from glominerals. The good thing about this one is that you can easily layer it under another lip color without having to deal with a sticky mess. This is nice if you just want a plump lip while still using your favorite gloss color. I put a small dab of gloLip Plumper in 'Very Cherry' ($16) in the center of my lip and then layered my CustomBlend Prescriptives gloss over it (though they have a clear shade that would work better if you're looking to stay true to your fave gloss). The formulation is lightweight, but beware of that tingling sensation which I still have trouble dealing with! Every time I use a lip plumper I have this urge to cover my lips in Vaseline because of that tingling sensation that I always get! How do you feel about lip plumpers?

This lip gloss gave me an orgasm the first time I saw it! ...YSL Pure Gloss #49 is a limited edition color, only 500 of these were distributed to Bloomingdales within the US. Why should we limit wearing black to our clothes? This gloss is so chic!! I have seriously worn this lipgloss every day since I bought it. You can mute it down by blending a dot of it with clear gloss, or go all out for a girls night on the town. I will be in Vegas this weekend, and you better believe that YSL #49 will be in my clutch as well as on my lips ;)

Dame Edna is the muse for MAC's post-holiday collection this year and the flamboyant lady, played by Australian comedian Barry Humphries, was recently on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to discuss her upcoming collection with MAC. The line will be available in North America beginning December 26th and internationally January 2009. The packaging is quirky and will please any Dame Edna fans (you'll find her signature glasses all over the place). That said, like the MAC Hello Kitty collection I'm not a huge fan of these kinds of collaborations and rather my makeup look sleek and simple. I couldn't ever imagine myself pulling-out a lilac compact from my bag that was accented with outlandish glasses and glitter! For those that go for this collection though you'll find heavy-on-the-lilac lipstick/lipglass, eye shadow, highlight powder and nail lacquers. If Dame Edna isn't your style go for classic MAC with the MAC Chill collection where you'll find no frills packaging and lips of Naked Frost, eyes in Arctic Grey, and a deep black velvety new Penultimate Eye Liner. A little bit ago I mentioned in passing my love for Bourjois' lip gloss and a reader asked me to do a post on it. I oblige! And getting ready to do the story I looked at Sephora.com for a link to the lip gloss I love so much and to my pleasant surprise Sephora has marked-down Bourjois Effet 3D High Shine Lip Glosses from $15.50 to $3.88!! I checked one of my local Sephoras because the color I use (#3) was no longer available on the site, but unfortunately at the actual store they are not on sale. That said even $15.50 is a great price for these glosses which are wonderful because they're completely non-sticky which is a problem with most lip glosses I find. Also I love that they have a brush applicator versus a sponge one and the #3, which I use now that they discontinued #69, is wonderful because it's provides shine without too much color. I've also heard that the Bourjois mascaras are fab, but I have yet to try one of their wands for myself.  What about you?  Have you tried Bourjois mascaras?

Its that time of year again...The time when you already feel guilty for the food you haven't even eaten yet!! Not very long ago, I was watching a show on the discovery channel about courtship practices around the world. A few days ago I attended an event hosted by co- founders of Kiss My Face, Bob MacLeod and Steve Byckiewicz. The duo are truly pioneers when it comes to green beauty.
