Dame Edna is the muse for MAC's post-holiday collection this year and the flamboyant lady, played by Australian comedian Barry Humphries, was recently on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to discuss her upcoming collection with MAC. The line will be available in North America beginning December 26th and internationally January 2009. The packaging is quirky and will please any Dame Edna fans (you'll find her signature glasses all over the place). That said, like the MAC Hello Kitty collection I'm not a huge fan of these kinds of collaborations and rather my makeup look sleek and simple. I couldn't ever imagine myself pulling-out a lilac compact from my bag that was accented with outlandish glasses and glitter! For those that go for this collection though you'll find heavy-on-the-lilac lipstick/lipglass, eye shadow, highlight powder and nail lacquers. If Dame Edna isn't your style go for classic MAC with the MAC Chill collection where you'll find no frills packaging and lips of Naked Frost, eyes in Arctic Grey, and a deep black velvety new Penultimate Eye Liner. A little bit ago I mentioned in passing my love for Bourjois' lip gloss and a reader asked me to do a post on it. I oblige! And getting ready to do the story I looked at Sephora.com for a link to the lip gloss I love so much and to my pleasant surprise Sephora has marked-down Bourjois Effet 3D High Shine Lip Glosses from $15.50 to $3.88!! I checked one of my local Sephoras because the color I use (#3) was no longer available on the site, but unfortunately at the actual store they are not on sale. That said even $15.50 is a great price for these glosses which are wonderful because they're completely non-sticky which is a problem with most lip glosses I find. Also I love that they have a brush applicator versus a sponge one and the #3, which I use now that they discontinued #69, is wonderful because it's provides shine without too much color. I've also heard that the Bourjois mascaras are fab, but I have yet to try one of their wands for myself.  What about you?  Have you tried Bourjois mascaras?

I was so excited to read in WWD that Kanebo is gearing-up to launch Sensai Colours, a new treatment makeup line consisting of 22 eye, lip and cheek items with formulas that draw on water and silk to address moisturization and impart a silk-like glow! Its that time of year again...The time when you already feel guilty for the food you haven't even eaten yet!! Not very long ago, I was watching a show on the discovery channel about courtship practices around the world. The specific episode that has remained fresh in my memory was about a family in Africa that was getting the eldest daughter ready for marriage, by feeding her AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!! A few days ago I attended an event hosted by co- founders of Kiss My Face, Bob MacLeod and Steve Byckiewicz. The duo are truly pioneers when it comes to green beauty. They started their eco-conscious company on a 200-acre farm in New York's Hudson River Valley over 25-years ago, way before it was cool to be green. I am going to Bobbi Brown's studio in SoHo to interview Bobbi and have my make up done tomorrow morning.  Needless to say I am beyond excited; I've been obsessed with Bobbi since college and am so looking forward to meeting her!  In addition to preparing questions for the Make Up Guru, I've been testing out her new products in order to discuss them with her.  I just got three things from the limited edition Holiday collection (shown above).  My favorite is the "Night Sky" longwear eye palette compact with two gel liners and two shadows, each has a cap so it stays mess free.  I hate when wet liners smudge on the compact mirror.  I also got the lip gloss trio shades ranging from beige, bronze to sparkling pink- yummy!  The double decker lip and eye palette are flattering on any skintone and is perfect for traveling (yes, I am taking it to New York with me today though there is a hurricane and hail so I don't know when I'll get there) and touch ups inflight. These limited edition items are fabulous stocking stuffers- there is something for everyone on my gift-giving list from the "Multi-Taskers" to the "Glamour Girls."
