nbrosemequetaoil.jpgI keep a bottle of Natura Bisse Rosa Mosqueta oil in my "must have" skincare kit for skin emergencies. There have been so many times that it literally saved my family's skin. Sunburns on the beach? Rosa Mosqueta oil heals it!  Wind burn from skiing?  A few drops of the oil and skin instantly calms.  I even applied Rosa Mosqueta oil to my toddler's face under his sunscreen before letting him out in the snow and it kept his skin from chapping or burning last winter in Vail!

Last week I had a horrible reaction to a few products I tested for review. The Sensai Hydrachange mask helped the first day but it got worse throughout the week. I remembered my Rosa Mosqueta oil and used it exclusively for 3 days. No eye cream, moisturizer or any other products. Just the Rosa Mosqueta and a few days later, my skin was completely healed. It also kept it moisturized while healing.

It is made of the purest ingredient of Rosa Mosqueta oil (25% of the intensive regenerating oil)-- which has been used for centuries in South America for helping heal scars and enhance skin condition.  I actually thought my skin would scar last week, that's how bad it was.  But this morning, looking in the mirror-- my skin is as velvety as ever.  You can buy this at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and Barneys New York but I could not find it online.  Try it and let me know what you think!   It is $52 and will last you at least a year, you don't need a lot!  A few tiny drops will go a long way!  Jump for additional benefits of this miracle oil!

Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm

omorovicza_thermalcleansebalm.png

This is one of those things that when you see it you just have to try it. This Cleansing Balm looks like black mud but it is not a mask, it dissolves into an oil that thoroughly cleans your skin and leaves your skin moisturized and enriched with minerals and vitamins. It is made of Hungarian thermal mud and Hungarian healing water, which are both rich in minerals and allows a deep pore cleanse, drawing out all the gunk and impurities. And it takes off makeup like you would not believe. You start on the cheeks and work in a circular motion to break down the balm, once it is oily, you work it up to your eyes and it will remove anything you have on, including stubborn waterproof mascara. This is meant as a one step process, you clean your face with this and wipe, not wash, it off leaving all the oils and minerals behind as a treatment for the skin. The instructions says to wash with water but the SA told me to leave it on. I don't like the idea of makeup traces left behind, so I am opting for the wash with water route. Everything about this is really incredible and I highly recommend it, except, it is really pricey, a jar of this stuff is $102 and if you wear makeup everyday, or even if you don't and just want to use this daily, you can go through this in a month. Exclusively at Neiman Marcus.

Amazing Argan Oil from Josie Maran

user-pic
josiemaranoil.jpgI'll admit it, when I first heard of Josie Maran's line of products I did not plan to try or buy anything (I know, such the beauty snob huh?!?).  But then I got a sample of the Argan Oil and have decided re-form my opinion on models turned beauty entrepreneurs.  This legendary, lightweight oil, grown organically in Morocco, is rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids but does not feel sticky as a lot of E oils do.  I used it this morning as a moisturizer (absorbs amazingly fast) and then used it all over my body from head to toe (including my cuticles) and split ends. For a mom who does not have a lot of time in the morning, this is almost a miracle product.  My skin has had a subtle glow all day but I don't feel greasy.

Best part is it's 100% organic!  Housed in a recyclable glass bottle with an easy to use applicator, I even used it on my son's rash and the redness went away almost immediatley.  The only drawback is the scent, it stinks.  But god is it good.  Just make sure you spritz on some perfume afterwards.  $48 at Josiemaran.com

Darphin Rose Aromatic Care

darphin_essentialoil.jpg

In the interest of preventing aging, I have been using various creams and moisturizers to make sure my skin gets all the advantages it can get. I use heavy creams in the winter and lighter ones in the summer because it is either too heavy or not moisturizing enough so I have to play this balancing act. What I needed was something that my skin was thirsting for and now that I have switched to Darphin essential oils, my skin is thanking me profusely by acting calm and smooth and looking radiant! My skin sucks the oils right up like it has been needing it all its life. I have no problems putting oil on my skin, I love oils and don't have the notion that oils will clog my pores or give me pimples. And this certainly does none of that. The Darphin essential oils are light and the molecules are super small so it penetrates to the source. I used this for a week and I was hooked, no more trying to guess what I need, this is it! It also smells so incredible! Dr. Darphin was the first plastic surgeon to develop his own line in the 50' to prevent the need of surgery, it prevents aging by fighting free radicals, which is what damages the skin and causes wrinkles. There are different oils depending on what your skin type is. The Rose Aromatic Care is for normal skin. You should follow up with your regular moisturizer for full spectrum care. At Darphin for $80.
