My boyfriend is a pretty low key person and doesn't really do much maintenance on himself. But with the winter coming in his face has been looking really rough and I just couldn't bear the sight of it any longer. It was one of those things where it looked so dry and painful that I could feel it too. So I bought him the Jack Black Face Buff Energizing Scrub. This scrub is made to prepare the skin to give the optimal close shave and it also has menthol and vitamin C to cooling and invigorate the skin. For some reason it seems like men love the minty feeling for products. His shampoos, lip blams, and scrub all have that minty tingly feeling. He loves using this scrub and uses it on a normal basis now. I stole a little of it and tried it out for myself, and I have to say I do enjoy the minty feeling. Its refreshing and a great way to wake up my tired cells and does a good job at exfoliating without being too harsh. It does have a slight manly smell though, not quite as strong as aftershave so its not too disturbing and it doesn't linger.

I recently got a coupon in the mail from Origins for $10 off their store. As of late it seems that retailers are starting to give out good coupons. Usually there is a minimum purchase you have to spend, but I've been getting some lately these kinds, where I could possibly walk out with free product. It sounds like a good thing, but it's probably bad because the retailers aren't doing so hot right now. I had heard great things about Origins Spot Remover Acne Blemish Treatment Gel and I figured for $12 with a $10 off coupon, I could get it for a mere $2! So I finally got a big pimple forming over my forehead to try it out on, and put it on before I went to sleep. The next morning, it looked much smaller and seemed like it was going away. it doesn't dry the blemish out so I don't get flaky, it just seems to disappear. I don't like to put it on during the day however, because for some reason when I put make up on over it, like it sticks to the gel and I can see lines of where the gel is, even when I have a primer over it. I have to admit, the thought of lathering marshmallows on my face to nourish my skin as the weather changes sounds quite intriguing, if not downright decadent, but add cocoa butter and a rice steam scent, and I definitely want to look into this weekly skin treatment.

I am always in the market for a new hydrating mask; keeping your skin hydrated is so important! Today is my wedding anniversary-- 8 magical years and a beautiful son later, we're still blissfully happy (okay so we fight like all couples do but it never lasts more than 5 minutes and I always win-- I think my hubby has finally figured out the key to happily ever after ;).
