New from Lancome

user-pic
Many people don't know this, but there are actually a handful of Lancome boutiques in the States. There's a gorgeous one on the Upper West Side in NYC (conveniently across the street from Magnolia Bakery and Intermix!), where they not only stock more Lancome products and shades than I've ever seen, but they have two treatment rooms in the back. In addition to adding a slew of new spokespeople (including Julia Roberts and Penelope Cruz), Lancome has a bunch of new products out right now. I checked some of them out last week and below are the stand-outs!

Lancome Genifique Youth Activating Cream Serum ($84) We loved the concentrate; we loved the eye cream; now we've got a serum to round out the family:-) It's light and moisturizing and works particularly well in the mornings to wake-up tired faces.  More after the jump!

user-pic

rouleau_mint_wash.jpg

How to beat the summer heat?! With a heavy dose of luxe mint from Renee Rouleau of course! I was given a sneak preview of this amazing Mint Cleansing Gel from the celeb skin guru last week and it added instant zip to my day (yes, you need to wash your face each morning, if only the T-zone, it helps keeps clogged pores at bay). The gel is made of glow-enhancing blend of spearmint, peppermint and rosemary oils (do not put this in your morning tea no matter how tempting!) and it gives a healthy radiant glow to the complexion. The gel works perfectly with my Clairsonic and removes all traces of make up.

Renee was generous enough to offer a 15% discount exclusively for our readers. Simply enter in the code 'beautysnob' at check out until May 31. Try it for yourself!

New Sensai Bronzing Powder

user-pic
I recently flew out to St Louis for my brother's college graduation and with all the airport madness I figured it would be best to stick with hand-luggage. Unfortunately that meant leaving my treasured Sensai Fluid Finish Foundation at home (I swear the Natural Beige shade feels like it was made for me!). I did bring along Sensai's New Bronzing Powder ($45). I usually use Fluid Finish and top it with NARS Bronzer, Prescriptives Blush, and an Estee Lauder Highlighter, but the Sensai powder ended-up eliminating my need for the highlighter. It's a great finishing powder that's ideally used in combination with Fluid Finish (or whatever your preferred liquid foundation is), to help set in the foundation, impart a finishing touch of color and shine, and unlike some other finishing powders, it's not drying.  More after the jump!

The Organic Pharmacy

user-pic
Anyone who knows me well knows that I rarely leave my apartment without at least one thing from the Bach homeopathic line of remedies. I've long sworn by the line to calm me in moments of stress and panic and can't imagine going a day without a drop of something from the line! Bach hails from the UK where homeopathic remedies are a lot more commonplace than they are here in the US and now another amazing UK brand, The Organic Pharmacy, has made its way state-side. They've recently opened a store in Beverly Hills, but they've also launched an e-commerce site where you can buy their full range of products (including skin care, hair care, anti-aging, bath and body, Mom & baby, sun care, men's skin care and grooming, health supplements and tinctures, and the Organic Glam make-up line). Back to the Beach with MAC

user-pic
mac_beach_2.jpg

Can not tell you how much I needed the sun this past week.  Between hosting events for Molly Sims (her jewelry line, Grayce by Molly Sims, ROCKS, by the way!), hosting Pat and Emmitt Smith Charities Golf/Poker Tournament (we raised $750,000 for the kids!) and hosting my father in law's 75th birthday party-- I had ore baggage than terminal 4 under my eyes from NO SLEEP for 3 days!  Luckily MAC sent me the "Back to the Beach" collection last week and I tested my theory that there is nothing a dusting of bronzing powder won't fix.   The Cream Bronzer not only hid the circles and pallor of my skin, it gave me a fresh from the poolside/beachside glow!   I am also obsessed with the Bronze Body Oil (I put it on my shoulders, arms and legs, SUBLIME!), it's less messy than self tanner and is easily removed with a quick shower.  The collection hits stores on May 28th.  Grab the cream bronzer and body oil, you will not be sorry.

For the recent blockbuster cruise show in St. Tropez, Peter used a multitude of Chanel products to create the runway beauty looks that accompanied the amber brown, absinthe and mint green, sky and navy blue, and bright pink prints of the collection.

Caudalie Vinexpert Riche Radiance Day Cream SPF 10

user-pic
Caudalie is always a go-to for me when I'm going through a blemish-prone phase or when I'm transitioning my skincare regimen to adapt to the new season's weather-induced issues. I've never had a bad experience with anything from the brand and I always recommend their products when friends of mine are complaining about redness/acne/sensitivity (even though my favorite Caudalie product is actually their Caudalie Crushed Cabernet Scrub - amazing for tired feet!). One of the brand's latest additions is their Vinexpert Riche Radiance Day Cream SPF 10 ($68) which is medium in terms of consistency and non-greasy, so it works well for mornings when you need something that's relatively easy and quick to lather on and absorb. The tube is only 1oz, but I can't stress enough how far a little hazelnut size of this cream goes! It's also got sun protection and as far as I could tell no real scent which is usually a good thing for morning creams. In addition to SPF and moisture, it's formulated to smooth fine lines and wrinkles via something called Resveratrol along with a variety of anti-oxidants.

Omorovicza Copper Peel

user-pic
omorovicza_copper_peel.jpg If you love a science project as much as I do, you must order the Omorovicza Copper Peel asap.  This two part mask is not for the weak of heart-- I mean you are using copper, mixed with lactic acid, that bubbles and fizzes on you face.  Scared?  Only if you are fearful of perfectly polished and hydrated skin!  The entire process takes 3 minutes which makes it super convenient even in the mornings before work.  Slather on the green copper peel paste, gently massage the lactic acid activator on top of that in circular motion for 2 minutes, and rinse off with warm water  I'm telling you, AHHHHMAZING.
There are 8 tubes of copper and 8 tubes of lactic acid activator.  I use about 1/3-1/2 of tube per application, a couple of times a week.  Yup, it will last several months!  I had a few white heads around the eye area (due to testing new eye creams, I really should start testing products on my arm or something) and this peel took care of it, too!

Givenchy Summer 2010 Collection

user-pic

I never wear waterproof mascara because I worry about loosing eyelashes in the process of taking it off, but my allergies have left me no choice but to succumb. Well... sort of! I've been using Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes Mascara ($29), which now comes in waterproof black and turquoise varieties on the small lashes at the edges of eyes. It kills three birds with one stone - I don't need to worry about loosing lashes, I get clump-free color on even the tinniest lashes, and I don't get any messiness around my eyes when my allergies kick in! Also in the Summer 2010 collection are two new glosses. I particularly like Givenchy Pop Gloss Crystal Sun 474 Island Cocoa ($24.50), but unfortunately it doesn't suit my pale, pale complexion. Anyone with olive skin however would look great in this rich, shimmering shade. To round out their Summer collection Givenchy has also introduced two limited edition Eyeshadows ($29) and Compact Powders ($45).

adara Organic Virgin Coconut Oil - Green Tea

user-pic

adara.jpg
Oils are my latest thing, nothing like pure natural oil to drench dry skin, you know what I mean? And yes, oils are tres messy but so worth the trouble. I got the adara organic virgin coconut oil in Green Tea recently and was puzzled by its thick white gooey texture when it arrived. I tried squeezing it and nothing would come out. Then I read on the back of the bottle that "Untainted coconut oil naturally crystalizes in cooler temperatures. Simply run the adara bottle under hot tap water to liquefy!" I was running behind schedule and really did not have time to heat up my bottle so I removed the entire bottle cap and scooped out a couple of pieces to rub on my legs. First it melted right away and smelled really clean and fresh! I actually like the solid version and don't plan on liquefying my oil but you can decide what works better for you.

adara's organic oils are more than moisturizers, you can use it as pimple treatment overnight! The cleansing properties of the lauric acid will help remove bacteria so that redness will fade and inflammation will subside. Who knew oil can help pimples!?!? Try for yourself, they are offering a buy 2 get 1 free so if you get two friends to split the cost with, it's really worth while.
