Estee Lauder Pure Color Pretty Naughty Collection
By Beauty Snob Sharon

estee lauder

It’s kind of funny to me that Estee Lauder’s Spring 2013 collection is called Pretty Naughty because Lauder is one of the last brands I think of when it comes to naughty – hence the double entendre with “pretty” I presume. The brand’s take on naughty is just up my alley because it balances soft pastels with more daring shades like shimmering charcoal and violet – violet smokey eye….here I come! If I was a little more adventurous (and had a spray tan), I could even conceivable go for a swipe of blue layered over the charcoal.

The highlight of the collection for me however are the matte lipsticks. I haven’t been wearing anything on my lips aside from chapstick lately, but I tried them out for curiosity’s sake and was pleasantly surprised at how lightweight they are. In fact they’re a great complement to chapstick if you want something super light, moisturizing, and with a little color, but they can also work as a base for lipstick or gloss (i.e. if you wanted to put one of them on for work and then layer on something more high impact for after). Also worth singling out is the Pure Color Illumination Powder Gelée Blush in Tease. Most of my favorite blushes are from Estee Lauder because they do an awesome job at combining blush with highlighter and I find that their shades are flattering for a range of complexions.
