Did you know that L’Oreal owns Essie? I’m so out of the loop! They own everything, so I shouldn’t have been surprised, but I didn’t know. This has me thinking, why spend twice the money for almost the same product? Don’t get me wrong – Essie has so many pretty shades that I won’t be jumping ship anytime soon. But let’s go back to the basics for a minute! This L’Oreal polish is the best dark bloody red out there – trendy oxblood even. I love Chanel Vamp, the original, but it has more aubergine and purple notes in it. This is true “Haute Couture” red. And the quality really exceeds its cost (although, I never find that price and quality correlate with nail polish). It took me more than a week to chip the paint, and I’m really hard on my nails.
