Tatcha: Memoirs of a Geisha

Tatcha Cream, Powder, Serum, and Cleaning Oil

No culture is more obsessed with skincare than the Japanese (not even the French). Japanese women are famed for flawless silken skin. You weren’t born with it? Neither were they, but they know which products work. Tatcha will help you obtain perfect skin with the secrets of the geisha. I am now addicted to Tatcha Pure One Step Camelia Cleansing Oil ($48). It’s with me now in Hawaii! A few small drops and make-up melts away (even the testy waterproof stuff). And don’t be afraid of oil – oil fights oil. It really is an all-purpose product. When your skin is over-hydrated, that’s when the oil glands go into overdrive and produce excess oil.

To combat this sticky problem, Tatcha offers the Deep Rice Enzyme Powder ($65), a gentle way to exfoliate without over-stripping your skin. Plus, it serves double-duty as a cleanser! After you’ve cleaned your skin, apply the Deep Brightening Serum ($150), which hydrates while also making your skin glow. It works to prevent aging and reverse the damage that’s already been done. Finally, try the Kyomei Moisture Rich Silk Cream ($150), an amazing cream that deeply nourishes without heaviness to make your skin feel like silk. You can apply it over the serum. Made of royal jelly and HADASEI-3 Bioactive Complex, this limited edition gel-cream is for a good cause. “Kyomei” means support in Japanese, and Tatcha is supporting Breast Cancer Awareness with a $25 donation from every purchase of this product during October.

All of these products and more are available at Tatcha.

Where do you get Tatcha? I don’t think I’ve seen it before.

This line made me break out very badly. Within 3 or 4 days of using it I was seeing clogged pores and pus filled pimples. Im not sure what product it was or if its because there wasnt a traditional cleanser in the regimen between the oil makeup remover and the exfoliator. But I would suggest that if you have a tendency to break out, to try the sample sizes first before buying.
