One Love Organics: Chia For Your Skin
By Beauty Snob Sharon
October 17, 2012

If you’re interested in health/nutrition you’ve likely been hearing a lot of buzz about chia seeds lately. They provide a complete source of protein, plenty of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, omega-3 fatty acids, and they have a ton of fiber so a bunch of food brands are starting to come out with chia seeds and chia seed-based products. They’re not only fantastic to eat however (I love them in a salad!), but fantastic for your skin particularly because of the omega-3 fatty acids, which help strengthen cell membranes’ barriers allowing water and nutrients in – this not only makes for healthier more moisturized skin, but stronger hair and nails. With that in mind it’s little surprise that chia is slowly making its way from food to beauty aisles and one of the first brands to embrace the trend is One Love Organics (read more about the benefits of chia here).

The brand has come-out with chia-based products and an essential oil, which you can use on its own or add in with other skincare products. Everything that One Love Organics makes is natural, hand-made and hand-filled, and all products have minimal ingredients (and you can actually understand what they are unlike most chemically-latent products!), so they’re safe even if you’re pregnant or for babies. Check-out all of their products here. The essential oil is particularly great if you’re on a budget. Just buy a frugal facial moisturizer and add in a few drops:)
