Bite Beauty Honey Lip Lacquers
By Beauty Snob Sharon
September 26, 2012

Am I the only one who has never heard of waterproof glosses before? Well that’s just what Bite’s new high-pigment Honey Lip Lacquer glosses are…just so you know in case you plan on swimming in your makeup….or drink water like a mad woman like me! Bite first caught my attention because they’re made exclusively with food grade ingredients and without parabens, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, or other potentially harmful ingredients (this is especially important for lip products which are often formulated with nasty things like bug parts…who wants that on their lips!). The natural brand, which launched in 2011, is exclusive to Sephora, and their latest offering are the high-shine, saturated glosses pictured above. I like that they’re multi-duty in that they provide long-lasting color (I didn’t have to re-apply for hours despite the fact that I drink water all day long), while working to fight fine lines with Resveratrol (ie the same good stuff found in wine). The one downside is that the formulation is a bit sticky and it might take a few times putting the brush into the tube to get enough on it to cover your lips if you’re looking for a more full coverage look, but it’s not heavy/thick so neither of those things were all that bothersome to me.

Again what makes this product so special in my opinion is what it’s formulated with AND without. I don’t tend to go out of my way to buy products from natural/organic brands, but when it comes to what I put on my lips there is serious benefit in making an effort…no one needs to be inadvertently eating/licking a ton of chemicals!
