I’m a workout nut – trust me, you don’t want to see me if I can’t make it to my Barry’s Bootcamp or Pure Yoga class – so I was excited that essie was inspired by working out for their latest collection, Yogaga. Personally I would have included some vibrant, bright colors because I think when it comes to working-out the more energy the better, but Essie Weingarten wanted an approachable collection focused on neutrals that not only reflect runway trends, but can take “you flawlessly from spin class to lunch with your best friend, to a night out in your favorite little black dress.” I think high energy brights could do that too, but hey who am I to complain since the six shades she came up with are pretty stellar in their own right. I’m especially into marathin, which I think will make a nice summer to fall transition color.

As always the names are memorably awesome -

spinning again – neutral brick
marathin – rose
gym dandy – neutral brown with a hint of gray
pilates hottie – subdued, pinky, taupy lilac
boxer shorts – cool  purple
yogaga –creamy, icy taupe
