Do you wear makeup to the gym? I certainly don’t. I’m acne-prone as is and tend to favor intense workouts so the last thing I need it to clog my pores because of gym-time vanity. That said I can’t help but be intrigued by Rae Cosmetics, a brand that makes makeup specifically for the gym! Seriously!??
The line is mineral-based and everything is heat and perspiration-resistant and designed so that it won’t crease, cake, or smear while working out. I was a little dubious, but then I read that it’s sold at med spas, dermatologists, and plastic surgeons’ offices and that it’s approved for use following microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and cosmetic surgery so there must be something to it. I still can’t see myself lathering on makeup at the gym, but hypoallergenic, oil free, and fragrance free makeup with pharmaceutical grade mineral foundations and non-comedogenic powders are never a bad thing for day-to-day non-gym wear. Plus, the fact that everything in the line is heat, humidity, and sweat resistant makes the line great for hot climates.
The brand is based in Austin, Texas so the founders know a little something about hot weather…

I don’t wear makeup to the gym. But my face sweats a lot in hot weather. It seems to be a very annoying genetic thing. The 100+ degree temperatures have been brutal this summer. This brand is quite intriguing, being mineral based.
OMG..this is such a conincidence. I went to Austin this past weekend and was talking to a good friend of mine. She said that she just started wearing this sweat-proof makeup called Rae. I was just now googling it, but decided to come here to read about past posts about Jane Iredale..and VOILA..a little piece on Rae cosmetics..Now my question is, to try Rae or Jane Iredale??
