Sachajuan Silver Shampoo and Conditioner
By Beauty Snob Sharon
June 27, 2012

I’ve always heard that when it comes to hair products, despite being counter-intuitive, “silver” meant that a product has been formulated to fight grey hairs. Not so however with recently launched Sachajuan Silver Shampoo ($28) and Conditioner ($30), which has been designed specifically for people with my hair — blonde and highlighted. On a side note I’m actually now blonder than ever and loving it! I have to give a shout to the amazing William at Elizabeth Arden who has a unique hair highlighting technique that uses cotton and plastic – trust he is worth $390 if you can afford it. Any case, back to business. More than ever given how much I’m loving my new hair color, I’m focused on only using products specifically designed to treat their built.

Blonde highlighted hair can become matte (especially once those shine masks they put on in the salon wear off…), and if you’re not careful, hair can take on a brassy yellow tone — this is particularly worrisome in the summer when we expose our hair to salt water, chlorine, and other environmental aggressors. These newbie products are formulated with a technology (basically a variety of proteins and minerals from sea algae), that works to fight this while moisturizing and preventing damage from harmful UV rays. I’ve been using both the shampoo and the conditioner for a few weeks now and so far so good! My hair looks healthy, shiny, and my color is as fabulous as ever…if I do say so myself:)
