Top Sky-Inspired Eye Shadows: Best of the Blues
By Beauty Snob Tina
April 30, 2012

From pale sky-blues to deep midnight-indigos, blue is the way to enhance your eyes this season. But don’t fret you’ll end up looking like an extra from Boogie Nights. The new blues are entirely approachable, even chic. Just be sure to keep your lips light though not nude. Go with pale pinks, corals, or the sheerest of reds for a finished look.
Like a bit of sparkle? Opt for NARS or Bobbi Brown. These deep shades, flecked with bits of iridescence, are most wisely used close to the lash line. Wing it out for a more dramatic effect (just as you would with a flick of liquid liner).
For the less adventurous, Clinique‘s gray-tinged blues will get your started and you can use the neutral shades of this quad to tone it down. The ocean meets the cloudy sky in Lancôme’s well-balanced palette. The formula is silky and blendable, so you can create your own shade of blue.
Like it light? Known for their high-intensity pigments, Illamasqua has toned it down to create a matte blue that’s pastel without being overt about it. Similarly, Shiseido‘s sky-blue with gold sheen will bring out the sparkle in all, especially our brown-eyed snobs.
All available at Sephora.

2. NARS Single Eye Shadow, $24.

3. Clinique Colour Surge Eye Shadow Quad, $25.50.

4. Lancôme Color Design 5 Shadow & Liner Palette, $49.

5. Illamasqua Powder Eye Shadow, $20.

6. Shiseido Luminizing Satin Eye Color, $25.
