Super by Dr. Nicholas Perricone Acne Solution
By Beauty Snob Sharon
January 10, 2012

When it comes to doctor-developed lines, Dr. Perricone’s ones are my favorite. I love that for him it’s more than just about a cream or serum, it’s about combining the right product with a healthy lifestyle. Needless to say I’m very into his Super line, which I’ve found to not only be effective, but reasonably priced. The products have very sanitary packaging – the top is packaged separately from the bottle so you know no one has tried the product before you (always a concern at Sephora…), and most of the products are in bottles, not jars, so they’re not exposed to whatever is floating around in the air everytime you use them. The latest product that I’ve tried is Super by Dr. Nicholas Perricone Acne Solution ($50). I’ve been out and about a lot recently and because my skin is so sensitive if I go more than a week straight wearing a full face of foundation, powder, blush, highlighter, etc. every day I’ll end up with a few blemishes. I’m always worried about having a bad reaction to a new product so I just tested this treatment on one of my red spots and low behold….it was gone the next day! GONE.

The treatment is formulated with quercetin, a fortifying flavonoid found in green apples so unlike many acne products this one actually smells good (like green apples!). It also has salicylic acid in it, but only 1% (most of the other acne products I’ve tried have 1.5 or 2%). If you find yourself with a spontaneous breakout I’d highly recommend using the Clarisonic all over your face and then using this as a spot treatment. You can use it all over your face as well, but it’s a little bit drying so it works better when used as needed.
