Face by Bobbi Brown: A Good Kind of New Year’s Drama
By Beauty Snob Tina
December 30, 2011

Participating in Bobbi Brown’s Pretty Powerful campaign was such an incredible experience! I was featured on Bobbi’s site, but I had no idea she put me on her brochure for “Dramatic” makeup tips! I walked into her office last month and there I was, on her inspiration board. She told me she looks at me every day – wow, what an honor!
Dramatic is the right word since this was a very bold look for me, one that I would have never dared to try until Bobbi showed me how to do it right. I can now apply this fabulous look myself for evenings out with the hubby and he even comments on how pretty it looks.
Follow Bobbi’s tips below for creating this look. The key to balancing the strong, smoky eye is to keep the cheeks and lips soft and pretty (not bare or nude!). With Bobbi’s expertise with shadow and contouring, my eyelids actually went from flat to deep set!
Matte powder shadow creates perfect backdrop for the ensuing drama. A few coats of metallic shadow enhance the mood with icy, reflective depth. Choose a lip that translates to soft and pretty – it’s best for balancing the dramatic eye.
Oh, how I love makeup. You can be whomever you want to be, even a femme fatale for an evening. This is a fabulous look for New Year’s Eve. Try it!

Eye Shadow, $20.

Onyx and Silver Eye Paint Palette, $45.

Bobbi’s Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow, $20.
