Chanel Spring 2012 Makeup Collection: New Horizons

It’s a new dawn! And how ready we will be for Chanel’s bright sunrise after a long, dark winter. Enter Harmoni di Printemps, Chanel’s new Spring collection, inspired by the infectious shades of the sky at dawn and twilight and the radiant glow it casts over the scene. Creative Director Peter Philips has managed to make pink lipstick feel new and different. While there’s nothing necessarily revolutionary about rose, coral, and peach for brightening and sculpting the face or deep garnets and bright pinks for pronouncing the lips, the overall palette of this collection (and wonderfully natural muse) makes for something entirely fresh.

Blush Horizon ($58) mimics an actual sunset – how dreamy! Five variations of pink and peach are layered in stripes so you can apply according to how much flush you want.

Ditch the black kohl and define your eyes with finesse. The Éclosion eye shadow quartet ($57) boasts shades of peach, gold, beige, and plum.

After winter’s rich hues, we tend to want to lighten the lips, even if we go for something hot and high-impact. It’s no better time than for Rouge Coco Baume ($32), Chanel’s hydrating lip balm that offers your pout a fuller look. Top it with one of the new Rouge Coco Crème or Shine lip colors ($32 each), in shades of girlish pinks, womanly plums, and flirtatious corals. And dress your nails to match, with a color named for each month of spring ($25)! Taking you from April (garnet) to May (pink) to June (pale apricot), the shades round out your face and nails as a canvas for a captivating horizon.

Available in January 2012.
