Josie Maranargan Illuminizer: Sun Kissed Without The Worry

Let me start by saying, I am pale. When I don’t use my self tanner I am ghostly. I don’t tan in beds and haven’t had a spray tan in a while because the smell makes me sick, so when my birthday rolled around this year I needed something to make me look less… dead.

Sometimes I tend to look too tan in the face when I use self tanner or bronzer, so I was looking for something with a hint of color for my big night out that wouldn’t make me orange in pictures. I came across this new product at Sephora and totally fell in love. The Josie Maranargan Illuminizer has a hint of bronzer but really just made my skin luminous and pretty, without looking cakey and fake. I used this with just a touch of my regular foundation mixed in and followed with a very light dusting of powder bronzer. I ended up looking like I had a hint of sun kissed skin and definitely made my complexion look dewy and soft.

If you are looking for a product that makes you look super tan, this isn’t for you. But if you are looking for something you can wear everyday that will give you a soft glow and is made from Argan oil that is good for your skin anyway, pick up this product at Sephora for $28.

I love illuminizers, so this caught my attention. Can you use it all over your face, or is it better just as a highlighter? I also haven’t tried argan oil yet.

I feel ya! I’m pale too and need bronzer to liven up my face. I also don’t like to feel cakey and that I’m wearing makeup so this is just awesome! :) Argan oil is supposed to be really great for your skin…and it’s organic!

Jeni- You can use it everywhere! But I mix mine with my lotion so it dilutes it a bit so maybe do a few trial runs first. And Cara, I’m the same. I hate cakey feeling and love anything organic! I hope you both like it if you try it, let me know!

I’ll definitely let you know when I try it Emma! What kind of moisturizer do you use? Been looking for a tinted moisturizer and can’t seem to find one that I love. So I’ve been mixing my Yes to Blueberries moisturizer (http://bit.ly/fxn8ur) with my bare minerals powder. Seems to be working so far!

That’s a great idea! I never thought of mixing my bare minerals with lotion…Genius. I use Clinique dramatic gel during the day. It’s light and really moisturizing. However, for a tinted moisturizer, I LOVE Laura Mercier’s option: http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P109936&shouldPaginate=true&categoryId=5809 It’s at Sephora for $42. I got a sample of it once and the rest is history. Hope this helps & thanks for the great idea about the powder!
