It’s Okay to be a Diva… Especially When It Comes To Your Eyebrows
By emma

There is a magic little place in upstate, NY called Brow Diva. My friends have all raved about it for years but I never made the trip to see for myself. So, last weekend on my way to go see a friend, I decided it was finally time to pay them a visit, and let me tell you, I’m glad I did. The place was awesome; great service, speedy appointment and friendly people (plus Hershey’s Kisses on the table while you wait). During the appointment I was asked what I wanted out of my brows. I explained I wanted natural looking (not pencil thin) brows that were symmetrical and even, because left brow tends to be a little thinner than my right (annoying). She cleaned up a little around my brows while she talked to me about how to achieve what I wanted at home, and by the time she was done, I had Denise Richards- perfect eyebrows. I kid you not.

Besides giving me celeb-worthy eyebrows and a whole new outlook at my brow routine, she gave me these great tips on how to get, keep and maintain a great set of brows:

  • Trim your brows: You don’t always have to pluck the hair that is too long in between waxes if they are in a place where your brows are thinner. Trim & let them grow in. She used this brush to help her with mine.
  •  Use filler: She used the product pictured above on me to make my eyebrows literally perfectly symmetrical while still looking totally natural. You can find it here. You can even send your picture into them and they will give you advice on color, product, etc. She also told me to use a stiffer, small brush and start from the brow base closest to your nose and blend up and out.
  • Use a product that is a few shades lighter than your actual brow color. This will ensure a natural, blended look (this was news to me, my original powder was far too dark for my coloring).
  • Spend the money to get your brows sculpted every few months: Maintenance in between could be done elsewhere or at home, but for actual shape of the brows, don’t go just anywhere. This can affect the look of your entire face. Be picky!

If you have a chance to visit the Divas yourself in Rochester, NY, I highly recommend it. If not, check out their products for eyebrows fit for a diva!

Wow, the before and after pictures on their website say it all! This place is actually in my hometown and I am visiting my family there in 2 weeks; perfect timing. Can you tell me the difference between the Diva appt versus Brow Sculptor appt? Which service did you get?

    Thanks!

That’s great! I am actually not sure what the difference is between a Diva appt verses a Brow Sculptor appt other than maybe experience? I wrote to them asking for you but I received an error message on the site after I sent it. I can try again. I had Alyssa, a senior sculptor and she was great! Let me know how it goes and I will let you know if I hear anything back :)

Alyssa is a genius with Tweezers. I absolutely adore her and she does FABULOUS work!!!

I believe that The Diva’s are the owners and more experienced staff. You really can’t go wrong with their staff, they’re all really well trained, very friendly and very professional.

    Happy waxing, ladies!
