Cowshed Spa at Soho House NY

I got a Hot Stone massage a couple of weeks ago at the “Cowshed Spa” at Soho House New York Hotel (compliments of the hotel, yes I’m one lucky girl) and it was just the respite I needed during my hectic 3 day whirlwind trip.

Have you tried Hot Stone massages before? It’s one of my favorite types of spa treatments, not only does the stone heat up the muscles, prepping it for masseuse to work deeper into the tissues, it feels SO good! My masseuse spent 90 minutes on me, alternating between hot stones applied on to my skin and deep tissue massage. When she was done I actually felt nauseous because of all the toxins she brought up to the surface (results of too much bubbly the night before). I was fine within a few minutes, however, and skipped off to Bergdorfs to meet a friend for lunch and shoe shopping.

The Cowshed is not luxurious in the traditional sense, but it has

it’s own modern chic charm. The waiting room feels unpretentious and

comfortable, perfect for relaxing before your massage and the spa

treatment rooms are pure indulgence.

Hopefully they will be done with cleaning/renovations of the locker

rooms before you go. While I was there they were replacing pipes but it

wasn’t too much of an inconvenience as I spent all of my time in the

relaxation room and the treatment room.

Book your treatment via email here or call +1 (646) 253 6111.

This room is beautiful. Am looking for a similar feel in my living room, but am having trouble tracking down a proper interior decorator.

I love this spa, and this treatment!

I also love the Cow line of products: Lazy Cow, Moody Cow…

Found a great line of hair products there as well called Alt. The Soothe shampoo and conditioner was excellent – don’t see it for sale on their website any longer.
