Blood is the new Botox!!!

Now I have seriously heard it ALL. In lieu of botox (I mean who really knows the long term effects of sticking botulism into your body?), doctors are now taking your own blood to shoot into your face. Yes, you read correctly, your own BLOOD. Well, it’s actually a bit more complicated– once a small amount of blood is extracted from you, it is spun in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells and the plasma which is then prepared with Selphyl. The golden hued plasma is what they’re after to inject into areas in the face to replace botox, juvederm etc. The platelet rich plasma reportedly will stimulate your cells to create more collagen and elastin. Using your own blood to rejuvenate your skin may sound disgusting but it actually might be better for you in the long run. Dr. Kendrick does this procedure and he tells me that 99% of patients who go through this have no allergic reactions whatsoever and the results last 18 months. What do you think of this? Would you do it?

Yes, more easily than Botox (in which the toxin! freaks me out). It is from your own body, I would want to see results, but yes.

I know someone who had this done — she swears by it and says it was recommended to her to get her skin back to normal after a case of shingles. She said it was pricey, but she was planning to have more done.

Now I really have heard it all. But it sure beats the side effects of botox, so might not be all that bad.
