Making a fruit smoothie with other RAW goodies in it is part of my morning routine. It tastes great, gives me lots of lasting energy that doesn’t burn out and I’m energized and ready for the day because it feeds my body nutrients and enzymes that gives me a great start! Smoothies also give you more fiber and nutrients than juice does. Oh…and here’s another interesting fact for those of you who take a “multi-vitamin” daily; “multi-vitamins” are not regulated by the FDA and most are not proven to have significant health benefits. The best and most effective way to get nutrition is from the foods we eat, foods rich in live nutrients and enzymes. Buying fresh fruits are best if you can get them locally grown or at your local Farmers Market, however according to Healthyfood.org frozen food has just as much, if not more nutritional value than fresh food you find on the shelves at the Market. Common fruits such as blueberries and strawberries are picked at their peak, cleaned, packed and frozen, then sent straight to the stores. Frozen is also cheaper and will keep longer for those of you worried that eating healthier with hurt your wallet!

Here are a few more benefits to consider:

*Hydrates your body for a great start of the day

*Provides natural vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants

*Gives you natural fiber along with enzymes for great digestion

*Boosts immune sytem

*The natural fructose provided gives you brain power!!!

Here’s a great recipe that’s fast, easy, and tastes great! :

– handful of soaked RAW almonds (soak almonds in a bowl of water for at least 2 hours or over night)

–3 to 4 cups of filtered water

– handful of blueberries

– 5 or 6 strawberries (cut tops off)

– half an apple ( peeled) or 1 tablespoon RAW honey –for sweetness and also if you’re pressed for time it’s easier to throw in a scoop of honey:)

– a teaspoon of bee pollen

*–OPTIONAL– You can add some RAW protein powder or “Amazing Meal” by a company called “Amazing Grass” (you can order from their website online at www.amazinggrass.com or you can find it at “Whole Foods” or “Super Supplements” if you live in the Northwest part of the country.*

An incredibly beneficial method of getting optimal nutrition to every cell in your body while letting you lead your busy life and spend as little time as possible prepping food, is to blend up some amazing and easily digested smoothies and fresh juices. It’s the best way to get all those energy-enhancing vitamins and minerals, and the combinations are deliciously endless. Use your imagination to build your own flavorful masterpiece and enjoy great flavor and outstanding health benefits!
