I am not a fickle perfume girl. There are only three scents I wear on a regular basis though I do have at least 20 bottles of perfume stashed in a drawer (gifts from family/friends that I don’t want to part with)– I’m loyal to Kai, Creed Fleurissimo, and Vintage Gardenia from Jo Malone. See a pattern here? I’m partial to florals, sweet scents work well with my body chemistry while musks do not! I mean for YEARS I have not used anything else (I have this weird things of wanting to smell consistent in case my son/hubby has to find me in the dark by scent– crazy, I know!) so when a dear friend sent me Carnal Flower from Frederic Malle Editions de Parfums, I was ready to stash it away with the other dozens of bottles I don’t use. But the bottle was so beautifully packaged I thought I should at least test it. The minute I sprayed it on my wrist, I was hooked. It was one of the most beautiful fragrances I’ve ever tried! Yes it’s a bit strong at first so I used a tiny bit on my wrists and back of the knees. Throughout the day, the scent opens (much like a flower that blooms in the late afternoon) and becomes even more fresh and alive. The main scent is tuberose, which I adore and it’s peppered with bergamot, melon, eycalyptus, jasmine and coconut. Totally divine and an absolute must if you love floral scents!
