Internet Marketing Guru (Senior VP of Market America), Beauty Maven (Creator of Motives Cosmetics), Jewelry Designer (Designer of Loren Jewels), Philanthropist, Fashion Blogger (My Fashion Cents); these are just a few of the hats Loren Ridinger wears on a daily basis. But the most important role she plays is one of mother to daughter, Amber. I met Loren through bag designer Adriana Castro last year and am in awe of her boundless energy and passion for life and success (not only her own but helping others, too)! You may have read about her last year when I reviewed her amazing cosmetics line, Motives but I want you to get to know Loren up close and personal. Read on for our interview!
What do you want for Mother’s Day? Just a beautiful, relaxing day with my daughter Amber and JR. No phones, no work and nothing but relaxation, and movies… a Do Nothing DayJ
What is your most cherished Mommy moment? When Amber was 4 yrs old, she stayed awake as late as she could for me to come home. She wrote me a note in that 4yr old writing that I framed and still hangs on my wall…”mommy, I know how hard you work and I love you so much so I layed your pj’s out for you, so u can just get in your bed with me when u get home. It was so amazing and the reason I became a mom.
How do you balance work and family life? Its hard sometimes…I still don’t have the magic formula, but now that Amber is turning 18 yrs old, I try to spend any moment she gives me together, no matter what time it is. Sometimes you just have to drop your inbox, not to miss the most magical moments of your life with your kids.

Mornings are tough for moms. Do you have any tips or advice on how to look put together with no time to spare? Get up 20 minutes earlier than you think everyone else will…or you will never be ready in time. My family calls me for all the details, so there is not much “me” time. Fast concealer and mascara is all I do in the mornings, along with a maxi dress that is easy to throw on and doesn’t take any thought.
Do you have efficient and tantrum free travel ideas? Special gadgets, toys or treats? I pack everything that my daughter and husband says they already packed, because I know they will forget something. Always pack extra phone batteries already charged and UNO so we can play while we travel.
Most working moms experience mommy guilt. How do you cope and find mental balance? I work from home most of my week, so I get to see her as much as possible..but I work long hours, and don’t always get to do the fun things she wants me to do. I always make time to write her emails and texts about how much I love her, several times a day.. and always like to have girl shopping day where I can spoil her.
How do you pamper yourself after a long week? I go out with my family on our boat and literally don’t do anything but watch movies and relax.. I don’t make plans with friends on Sunday, so I don’t have to do anything.. and I love it.
Best Mother’s Day memory? Every mothers day with Amber and JR is special. They make it so special…I love it! I think it is their way of giving back to me.. and I am not complaining at all about it.
What do you think is important to teach your children? Love, Love, Love and respect. Its everything for their confidence and makes them the most beautiful people. I always want my daughter to be better than me at everything .. and she for sure is.
What is the most important lesson you learned from your own mother? My mom was amazing. She passed away at 42 (on mother’s day) of a massive heart attack when Amber was 7 months old. She taught me everything. She showed me everything I needed to do with Amber because I was so young at the time. She convinced me I would be a great mom. But most importantly, she showed me love… she convinced me that I could be anything I wanted to be…I could do anything I wanted to do and I would be successful at it. I guess she instilled so much belief and confidence in me, that I had to believe in myself! She is the reason I am who I am today. I owe her everything and wish she were here to celebrate mother’s day with me. One other thing she told me ..was never to go to bed mad at those you love.. kiss and make-up…she use to tell me life is short to stay mad..and well, she was right!

This is a most beautiful article! This is why I am so honored and proud to work with Loren and Motives! Also with JR and corporate Market America Team. I don’t know of any other company who cares as much as they do…and helps the average person succeed! I love this story…and I know how it feels to lose your mom. I love my daughter so much too and Mother’s Day was always for me and my mom! We never missed one…and usually spent the day at our local fair. When I became a mom, my daughter became a part of our Mother’s Day! It was a tradition for us.
Today my daughter Victoria, also a Motives girl, and I love to take “Mother/daughter getaways”…especially to Half Moon Bay,
and recently to Carmel. We love going to the beach…and relaxing. So I really relate to Loren’s story…especially the part that is most important which is to LOVE them! Loren and JR are such caring people and this article just shows you how true it is. God Bless them! God bless all you moms out there! If you are lucky enough to have your mom…go bless her. If you are a mom…go bless your children! HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL YOU MOMS OUT THERE…HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO YOU LOREN! May this one be the most beautiful one ever!
