Blue Print Cleanse: A Journey to Good Health

bpc.jpgI decided to try Blue Print Cleanse last summer when I had been traveling a lot and feeling sluggish. I have never cleansed before, in fact, I’ve never even been on a diet (this is a girl who’s nick name in college was “are you going to eat that?”). So I was a little bit scared that my body would go into shock and chose the 2 day Renovation beginner cleanse (there are three levels, beginner, intermediate and advanced).

Last week, I was feeling cranky and tired and thought I needed to cleanse again (this time for 3 days). Blueprint cleanse follows me on twitter and read that I was preparing to cleanse again and offered me a discount if I’d blog about my experience. I chickened out of the 3 day but did do the 2 day cleanse again on intermediate Foundation level. Read on for my cleanse experience (random notes jotted on my iPhone). (Blue Print Cleanse is offering the same 25% discount to our readers til 12/30– enter code GIFT25Go here to order!)

Day One:

8am- Juice has not arrived yet, so decided to meet a friend to choose marble for my new kitchen.
9am- Very hungry and got cross at a couple of people, including my friend… oy– gonna be a long day.

10am- Starving and now home pacing the kitchen while drinking warm water with lemon.

11am- Yay Fed Ex! Giant box of cold juices

numbered in the order to drink them (our organs detox at different

times of the day, BPC aids the cleanse by providing foods that benefit

different parts of our body). Gulped down bottle 1.

12pm- Drank bottle 2 and still hungry (you must wait an hour between each juice).

1pm
- Decided to heat up bottle 3 (green juice) in

a pan for 1 minute and ate it like soup. Tasted really yummy even

though my friend said it makes her gag (maybe I’m just starving.)

2pm- Really really hungry, considering chewing on my nails. Drank more water with lemon. I will not cheat. I will not cheat.

3pm
- Picked up my son from school and lectured

him in car for not eating his lunch. How could he waste food when

people are starving!? (meaning me but he didn’t need to know that).

Realized skinny girls are called bitches for a reason, they’re always

hungry and angry.

3:20pm Now feeling dizzy. Drank bottle 4, again,

heated. Lemon with cayenne, surprisingly delicious. Hot and spicy

lemonade, who knew!

5pm
- Drank bottle 5 (green juice), yup heated.

Starting to shake and worried I will cheat at dinner. Decided to make

family food I don’t like for dinner.

6pm- Finally, dinner time. I remembered the Cashew milk

from bottle 6 was really filling. This time I was not full. Staring at

son’s dinner wondering if I should sneak a bite (did not give in).

8pm- Really weak, tired and hungry (super grumpy, too). Put son to bed and fell asleep with him til morning.

DAY TWO

7am- Woke up feeling really light, energetic and happy. Weird, this happened last time, too. The first day is really hard to get through. Drank my first bottle and bounced around kitchen making breakfast for family. Feeling like I’m a champ. Hubby makes fun of me and asks if I’m now clean and happy or will I be yelling at people for another day.

9am- Did an hour of intense kickboxing private session, brought bottle 2 with me and sipped it through the session. Didn’t feel hungry and had one of my best work outs. Trainer very impressed and wants to know what I’m taking ;)

11am- Forgot about food and reminded myself to drink bottle 3. Still feeling really great.

1pm- Worried I won’t finish all of my juices. Also mad that I chickened out of doing the 3 day. Bottle 4 took time to drink while I worked, sipped at it slowly. My mind was very clear and I got a ton of work done, enough so that I won’t have to blog at all during my trip to New York this coming week.

4pm- Have not thought about food for hours! Drank bottle 5 and congratulated myself on almost finishing the cleanse.

6pm- Could not finish the cashew milk. Drank half and went to bed because watching the hubby have his night cap was not fun since I couldn’t have any wine. Patted myself on back (and very flat belly) and felt a strange sense of accomplishment.

DAY 3

I eased myself back slowly with fruit for breakfast (didn’t want to eat, wished I had more juice!) and a light salad for lunch with vinegar and oil. Dinner was a small piece of chicken, didn’t enjoy chewing and wish I had more juice. Felt kind of nauseous from food, body been so clean I guess.

It’s been 2 weeks since the cleanse and I weighed myself just to see if I lost any weight (though it was not the intent). I was 98 pounds when I started, am now 96 pounds and have seem to kept it off. I don’t feel bloated and am fairly conscious of what I eat (my vice is the occasional glass or two of wine!).

I swear I will do the 3 day cleanse next time– probably in a few months, my goal is to cleanse a few times a year though some do it monthly and love it (I am not a warrior yet). Cleansing has many benefits, one of which is of course optimum health– you must give this a try!

Blue Print Cleanse will deliver to any city in the US via Fed Ex overnight. In NYC, you can pick up or deliver. Go to the site here for more info!

    LOL!!!!!

I still need to try this….I keep trying to do a DIY version since I live next to a health food store that has a juice bar, because even at $7 a juice it would be a lot cheaper to buy them rather than $65 a day, but there is no way those can replace food…and most of them have cayenne, garlic and pepper…eck for my breath! Blue Cleanse for Jan 2010 is my present to myself:)

  2. Just want to tell you that your blog is like having a whole banana split for dessert – fantastical.
