Sabon Organic Line

I live right by Sabon's Upper East Side location in NYC so I'm fortunate enough to get a whiff of their delicious products every time I pass their open door. I'm partial to the brand because not only do their products smell great and work effectively, they're owned by Israelis (I'm a nice NYC Jewish girl after all!), and their staff is ALWAYS super-friendly, helpful and ready to let you test out their products right in the store. The line of bath, body, and face products is all about embracing aromatherapy and the benefits of the Dead Sea (their products remind me of a cross between Ahava and L'Occitane), and they've just come-out with a new organic line. I love the simplicity of all of their packaging and with everything they make a little goes a long way. Sabon Organic products are suitable for all skin types and they have a subtle apricot fragrance (while it's non-obtrusive, it's relatively long-lasting), which make them a great cosmetic or fragrance base. The line is also paraben and sulfate-free and packaged in recycled packaging. Jump for the scoop on two products I tried!

Sabon Organic Butter Cream ($39) -- this is a very greasy moisturizer (you'll also clearly feel the organic oils used in the formulation), so very little is required to cover your body (making this a better deal than L'Occitane's Amande Firming & Smoothing Milk Concentrate, which is my default body moisturizer -- even though it's not the best moisturizer I've been obsessed with the smell for years). Again, I love the smell of the Sabon cream and the robust, thick glass packaging (similar, again, to L'Occitane), is fab.

Sabon Organic Body Scrub ($30) -- In the same way that body and face exfoliation is key in the cool winter months, exfoliating my feet is important when it's warm out. This scrub blends Dead Sea salts and minerals with organic oils. I could scrub my feet with this forever! Truly left me silky smooth.

  • Hey Sharon!

Been redaing your columns for a while, are you an NYC Student, what's it like studying there?

Anyway, I wanted to know whether this line is available internationally, do they have a website?

    Take Care,
    Kaya

  • The website is http://www.sabonnyc.com.

It's also available in Israel, Japan, Canada, Holland, Romania, Italy, Belgium, and Poland.

  • Nope not a student anymore. I graduated from Cornell a few years ago, but I was born and raised in Manhattan and moved back here after college:) And Sabon has 80-something stores across the US you can order online though as well -- http://sabonnyc.com
    enjoy!
