No bag wardrobe is complete without an Anya Hindmarch bag! We first interviewed the Queen of Bags three years ago in 2006– since then we’ve become addicted to her chic and functional bags, clutches and now ready to wear (I ordered an insanely fabulous fur stole for Fall 2009, complete with hidden pockets!)
Anya designed her first bag at age 6 out of paper– even at that young age she understood the importance of organization and designed little pockets and slots for everything a little girl needs! She told us she’s been obsessed with bags for a lifetime and plans to continue for at least another 20 years. In addition to being the ultimate bag snob, Anya is also mum to 5 children! Read on to find out how she manages it all!

How do you balance work and family life? I have lots of lists. I try not to mix work and kids; when you are at home be at home and likewise at work. Schedule ‘you time’ things like gym, hair, nails etc. early or late and at home if possible. Mainly though, involve the kids in what you do, no guilt and have fun – it is very important with kids that you are a happy parents Mornings are tough for moms.
Do you have any tips or advice on how to look put together with no time
to spare? Great accessories. I think they punctuate your style and are
the defining part of an outfit. I love the way that a handbag can
change the way that a woman feels. You can looked pulled together in an
instant with the right bag and shoes and they are mood enhancing!
Do
you have efficient and tantrum free travel ideas? Special gadgets, toys
or treats? The Loose Pockets from our collection are like a filing
system for your bag and make changing purses a cinch. I am obsessed
with organization and labelling. I label every travel cosmetic kit I
make so I know exactly where everything belongs!
How do
you pamper yourself after a long week? I am a sucker for a massage if
it has been a tough week! Most of all I enjoy relaxing at home with
friends and family and locking out the world – probably with pink wine
and a Rotisseries Jules Chicken delivery. I am on first names terms
with all the delivery men!
What do you think
is important to teach your children? Don’t do things by halves.
What is
the most important lesson you learned from your own mother? To be able
to laugh at yourself and not take yourself to seriously
