I am not a fan of the color yellow. I know it was the imperial color of ancient China and only the emperor was allowed to wear it but yellow is just not the most flattering on me. Plus anytime you hear 'yellow' to describe a body part, you know it's bad news. Like, "did you see his teeth? So yellow!" or "her eyes are SO yellow, she must be jaundiced". And how about, "ewww, his fingers are stained yellow from all the years of smoking!". Get my point? Okay, so then I come across this as the latest nail trend on Barielle.com, YELLOW nails!?!? Ick, not for me. What do you think? Snob or Slob?

I would say ICK is exactly the best way to describe this trend. Esp. because its a muted yellow, i can maybe see a neon shade working... i guess if you live in Miami.

I said NO to yellow before and then I tried it on me. Not that bad. I do think the browner you are the more flattering the color is on you. Rescue Beauty Lounge's pale yellow is probably the most flattering yellow I've tried. The more neon the yellow the less flattering I think it is.

My manicurist uses on my nails a similar color. But it looks better if you have a bit of sun color in your skin.
I love colorful nails -- in pretty much any color except yellow. Pale yellow looks like a fungus to me. I think a neon yello would be better, although perhaps less flattering.
it's going to take a while for this trend to catch on but i bet u will see yellow nails taking over. just like how black nails were a yuck, now even old ladies sport black nails.
it definitely has to be the right shade of yellow tho.
My fave nail colors of all time were the limited edition neon essie colors..so fun -- but even their couldn't be pulled-off..slob!
I love this color. I think any color can be worn on the nails, painting your nails is supposed to be fun so no use worrying about what's kosher.
as a young bright girl i enjoy putting crazy colour on my nails, but recent experiment with neon yellow left my nails permanetely yellow. And it wasn't cheap! Now I'm afraid to use the brand again...

Yellow polish ROCKS! It's bright, it's cheerful, it's colorful and super hot! It's edgy but not out there :)
Actually, I sort of agree with you about the yellow. A terrible color on me, and most shades I find hideous. However, I came across this blog a few weeks ago, and this girl has me totally sold on *her* yellow. It's a franken, and I can totally see it working with a crisp, white cotton dress for spring.
