Random Stuff to buy- Shadow Shields

Do you get smudges all over your face when you apply smoky eye make up?  I don't really have this problem but apparently other women do.  There is now a shield you can buy to prevent make up smudges (it's all about continuing the shopping process isn't it?  When times are tough, women buy more beauty products.  It's a strange phenomenon actually, we're willing to starve but be damned if we get ugly!).  Anyway, this is a disposable stick on shield you put under your eyes to catch all that debris from your dark eyeliner, shadow or mascara.  I guess it would be good for make up artists but seems a bit useless for the average girl.   $16.95 for a pack of 50 (25 applications) at Shadowshields.com

  • Instead of spending $17 on 25 applications just use a powder puff and dab translucent powder under your eye and on top of your cheek bone before applying your eye shadow. When you have finished, use a large fluffy brush to sweep off - wah-lah! No eye shadow mess!

  • Even a pack of post it's is cheaper than this.

  • also if you're really desperate - scotch tape :)

  • Why would you use scotch tape around your eyes? Your post sounds like another "anti-cosmetics, anti-woman" post. If people do not find this useful, the product will be taken off the market. I think if your products are smearing that bad, you might need to get a different product or change your eye cream...

  • that was a bit rude. it's a handy tip i've heard many times before, and it works just like any other adhesive shield (like these) you'd put under your eyes, but you can find them for free in your kitchen drawer. i've never had to do this though because i generally don't have this problem.

and for your information i have a full case of cosmetics sitting near me and consider myself a feminist :)

  • If you live near a Daiso--which is a huge Japanese store where everything is two dollars--they have a similar product which is suppose to shield make-up smudges...it's only two dollars and it's not disposable. I know there is a Daiso in Richmond, near Vancouver for people that are interested.
