I like to use a silver eye liner at the corners of my eyes to make them look sparkly but every time I sharpen it, it crumbles and/or bits and pieces of liner end up in my eyes which always freaks me out. My solution is to put it in the freezer for 15 minutes PRIOR to sharpening which gives it a perfect point without crumbling!!!

That is a great tip. I actually sharpen and then soften the point up on the back of my hand. It dulls the point and warms up the liner before application.
