I was asked to participate in a Glam Spokesblogger contest featuring Elizabeth Arden's latest product, the Intervene Make Up, with a chance of being the next face for Elizabeth Arden's online campaign if I win. You know how I love pictures of myself plastered everywhere so of course I accepted! To be honest, I have good skin and generally do not require more than a bit of tinted moisturizer so the thought of using an anti-aging foundation kind of frightened me (I don't want to look like Mommy Dearest!). But vanity won out in the end and I went ahead with the contest. My package arrived last week and I tested it on my wrist right away, the color (Shell) was perfect and the foundation was not nearly as heavy as I expected it to be. I couldn't wait to try it, playing with make up is one of my favorite past times!

So how does it work? The Intervene make up has a Biodormin technology (meaning it is very high tech) which delays the appearance of wrinkles (meaning the more you wear it the less likely you will get old) and micro-mineral technology which will smooth and even the complexion (meaning you'll look flawless while looking young). It also has spf 15 which gives you a bit more protection when used with your regular sunscreen. You can have all of this for a mere $36 (meaning you'll have more money to spend on your bags and shoes)! At Elizabeth Arden or department stores near you. Available in 12 shades.
I am on my way to New York for Fashion Week as you read this. This bottle of Intervene will travel with me so I can be camera ready at all times (did you think I was kidding when I said I loved taking pictures?).
Here are a few other items that I used to achieve this smashing look.
1. Intervene Pause and Effect Moisture Cream SPF 15, $55- This was a nice base for the foundation and was not too greasy. I wish it had a higher spf, in the summer I will add my sunscreen.
2. Color Intrigue Bronzing Powder Duo, $32- I put just a touch on the apple of my cheeks (under my blush) to give me a bit of glow. The duo powder allows you to control how much color you want.
3. Smokey Eyes Powder Pencil - I am a major fan of eyeliner and think all women can benefit from a touch of definition, this one is fab because it has a sponge tip at the end to blend and to create an extended line for a more dramatic look.
4. Crystal Clear Lip Gloss, $14- I used this over another lip gloss because I need color! It added extra shine which I liked and has a very light spearmint flavor (for what I have no idea, just in case you get kissed?).
5. Flawless Finish Maximum Coverage Concealer, $18- This was in the package but I did not use it, the foundation was all I needed for flawless skin.

Wow. You really do have good skin without make-up!! Nice make-up too, BSTina!

Thank you, vogue! You are always such a great supporter of our sites. I love this foundation, it was easy to apply and not heavy nor mask like.
I am a real snob about skincare and have only used Chantecaille Real skin compact and the Chanel Teint Innoncence, both super lightweight coverage but I am excited to discover this foundation because it is truly flawless.

Jeanette, you are so sweet. I really love this foundation. This morning I used it again but blended it with the Intervene moisturizer and made my own tinted moisturizer! It was a bit more sheer but still offered a great coverage.

The foundation looks great on you Tina. I have started trying some EA products, ever since Blogdorf Goodman recommended their powder compact. I have not tried their foundation but may give it a whirl next time I'm out. Have fun at Fashion Week.

it looks amazing! you are glowing, I would expect anything anti-aging to be heavy and mask-like but you actually look younger with the foundation. not that you look old, but definitely perkier in 2nd photo.
it makes me want to try it even though I am only 23.
thanks for the review and all the tips! maybe I will blend it with the intervene moisturizer as you suggested to make a tinted moisturizer. good luck, hope you win!

Hi Tina -
Are there colors available for African-Americans? I don't wear makeup aside from eyeshadow, but this looks like something worth trying. Thanks!
