This is not expensive at all! It's very reasonably priced!
And yes, you can use this alone. I just like the shimmering effect of the eye cream so I use it over my make up.
The face cream I use alone. It's a great make up base for day!

I really liked the eye cream too. I also used it some time after my regular treatment eye cream, applying it just before my concealer.
Is the makeup base too heavy/moisturizing for those of us that have combination skin with a pretty oily T-zone?

this is a moisturizer and no, it is not too heavy. It's actually lightweight and velvety, which provides an excellent canvas to put your make up on.
