Necessity is the mother of invention. How true that is and you don't really know how creative you can be until you are desperate because you've lost your entire make up case (yes, that's me). Luckily, I had some MAC products in my bathroom that I didn't use, specifically the Paint Pot. I had a really hard time with these because it is so thick and sticky and I am very light on eyeshadow use so they just sat beautifully in my bathroom beauty closet (I have a floor to ceiling cabinet with a shelving system that will hold half of a Sephora store. So you don't really have to feel sorry for my loss of make up case). Well, I lost my entire eyeliner system, which is the key piece to my make upping. I decided to grab an eyeliner brush and stick it in the black Paint Pot and if anything good has come from my loss it is the discovery of an amazing eyelining technique!! This stuff is thick and creamy, almost gel-like but goes on dry so it is the perfect eyeliner! My previous fool proof technique of wetting powder seems like such a hassle compared to this ready to go pot of heaven!! It goes on opaque and stays on beautifully and the consistency allows you to shape it however you like. I am so happy and proud of myself for figuring this out!! $16.50 at Mac Cosmetics.

GENIUS!! I love paint pots but for some reason didn't think of using them as eyeliner!?! Thanks! Molly

Sorry about your makeup case :(. Does this work better than a gel liner like the one Bobbi Brown or Stila has?

Awesome! I am loving paint-on eyeliners right now, and this one sounds like a winner. Who says you have to use products exactly what they are designed for?! Yeay for thinking outside the box!

Thanks! I had a pot of this stuff, and it was just too dry to be using as a base compared to the other paint pots. The perfect solution!

I'd be totally excited if I were genius enough to figure this out too! Currently, I'm too in love with Bobbi Brown's gel liners to switch or try anything new! :)
Keep us posted on these alternative uses for different products - it really is genius!!

Um? Mac's produced fluidline eyeliner for a while. This isn't a new innovation.
