Under the Tuscan Sun” is a movie based on the memoir penned by American writer Frances Mayes. Mayes (played by the brilliant Diane Lane) found herself on a gay tour in Italy and (arranged by her lesbian best friend) notices a villa for sale while in Tuscany which she purchases on an impulse.
