Double-Ended Blemish Extractor

I’ll tell you a gross secret. I’m a pimple popper. I’m not proud of this fact, but it’s a compulsion that comes over me every time one of those gross whiteheads appears. I’m lucky in the fact that I don’t get pimples very often and when I do, they don’t scar. But that doesn’t change the fact that pimple popping can lead to scars and is gross and generally not good for your skin. I recently got this Double-Ended Blemish Extractor from Sephora. It even applies pressure over any whitehead or blackhead to minimize scaring. Also, if you take care of it, it’s a lot more sterile of a way to pop your pimples then between your fingernails. I don’t have a lot of blemish scars so I don’t know if this plays a significant role in reducing scarring, but I’d say if you have to pop the pimple, this is the way to go. Less scarring and more hygiene? Sounds good to me! $16 at Sephora

  • The trick I've learned from my mother (a facialist specializing in blemishes/acne problem) is to take a diabetic needle (It's the one that they use to prick the finger to test for blood. You must make sure to get the thin one so it will hurt less) and make a puncture mark on your blemish so that when you do apply pressure, there is a tiny whole for it to come out. This way, you won't break the skin when the blemish comes out. Hence, there won't be any scarring. I swear by this method! I get the usual blemish because I have big pores, but this helps so much.

  • I know this is kind of gross, but another great thing about this tool is that when you get a pimple in a strange place (inside of your nose, inside of your ear) you can pop it pretty easily. For anyone who has ever had one of these you know that they can hurt a whole lot.
