So my ex-boyfriend, among his many other faults, didn’t really take care of his skin that well. He worked in a job that required him to wear a mask on his face for part of the day, he lived in a really hot, sweaty climate and he only shaved sporadically (and with an electric razor when he did! *gasp*). So you can imagine how rough and dry his skin was. My skin itched looking at it sometimes. The one thing I did manage to impart on his daily routine was the use of Anthony Logistics for Men Facial Scrub. It’s a perfect thing to add to a low maintenance guy’s routine. It’s got Aloe Vera and Vitamin C in it to help moisturize his skin and while it smells pleasant, it doesn’t smell to girly so your guy will still want to use it! The best part however, is the tiny beads in it that smooth the dead skin away and leave skin super soft. If your guy has less than supple skin, leave this on the counter and hope he uses it. It’s the perfect beauty product for the non-beauty product guy. My relationship might have ended, but I’m hoping (for the sake of the girls who came after me!) that the nighttime face cleansing routine he established kept going. $18 at Sephora.com Anthony Logistics for Men Facial Scrub

Glamour Gloves

I’ll tell you a secret that not many people know. I sleep with Glamour Gloves. In fact, I swear by them. Glamour Gloves are gel lined gloves that you wear to bed at night with your favorite lotion on underneath them. The gel-lining works it magic overnight and pretty much forces your skin to absorb moisture and vitamins. The gel is actually infused with things like mineral and grapeseed oil and some other things I can’t pronounce, but sure make my hands feel great! I’m a bartender and my hands have been known to get super dry, but these gloves have totally solved my problem. I sleep with them on every other night and the difference is totally noticeable. Plus, they’re called Glamour Gloves. How fun is that to say? $48 at Sephora.com.

Lamisilk Foot Therapy

lamisilk_exfoliate.jpglamisilk_overnight.jpg

There are many things I can live without, I will leave the house with no make up on, my hair is not always done but I always have a nice bag AND I always have a perfect pedicure. Nothing says "I'm unkempt" louder than gross feet. I would rather stay home than be seen with dried cuticles and chipped nail polish! But that would never happen because I get a pedicure once a week without fail (I even went in days before I had my last baby, my husband practically carried me in and out of there but I HAD to make sure my feet looked nice for the hospital!). So because of my obsession I am always willing to try lamisilk_hydrate.jpganything that claims to give me nicer feet, like this line of new products from Lamisilk. I was really excited to find affordable drugstore products that can do what my $68 salon pedicure does (I only do the special spa pedicure once a month, the rest of the time I get the quick 30 minutes fix). The Exfoliating Scrub, $5.94 was of particular interest to me because I love to exfoliate so I was really disappointed to find that it was watery and not rough enough. I mean, we're talking feet here that takes a pretty good beating everyday so why spare it with sparse soft granules? It needs to be more substantial, very close to a harsh scrub, to make it do something. And because it's watery, it just runs off before it has a chance to do anything. But it does clean the feet on a daily basis better than just soap and water so for the price it's not bad for that. As for the Daily Hydrating Cream, $8.99, it doesn't do any more than whatever lotion you have lying around. Same for the Overnight Moisture Seal, $8.99. I still prefer my secret weapon against dry feet, Lanolin, for an overnight feet-lift. But if you don't get regular pedicures and need something to get your feet in to shape for the summer, these products are certainly better than not using anything and they are very reasonably priced. You can even get a $4 coupon from the manufacturer.

Keratase UV defense hair mask leaves my hair silky and soft even after hours in the pool with my son. $58 at www.keratase.com

I love the light bronze-y glow Jergens Natural Glow moisturizer gives my skin (I use the medium on my chest, shoulders and arms, not my face!) Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer $7 at Drugstore.com

Scrub your callous off with Creative Nail Designs Callous smoother. Be careful not to go too nuts on your feet (I almost scarred myself!) and buff away gently. $36 at Creativenaildesign.com

I use this Santa Maria Organic Aloe after sun treatment during the summer because it is nearly impossible to avoid the sun in Texas and it instantly cools and heals my skin, I will try putting it in my fridge as Style.com editors suggest, what a great idea! $35 at Lacofny.com

Sharon Stone: Did she or Didn't she?

sharondidsheordidntshe.jpg

For a woman about to turn 50 next year, Sharon Stone looks amazing. What's even more amazing is that she claims she has not had any "work" done. I don't know about you but I think there's definitely been a bit of nip and tuck here and there or why else would she resemble a wax figure? And she certainly doesn't look as natural as other 50 year olds who are really aging gracefully without help. Don't get me wrong, when I am 50 I am sure I'll be first in line for maintenance plus I will detail it all out for you (you'll have to wait a couple of decades though)! I am just annoyed that celebs pretend they are genetically superior to the rest of the world when they are secretly getting cut, pulled and injected, just like everyone else.

So what do you all think? Did she or Didn't she?

Foot Petals

heelz.jpghauteheels.jpgkillercushion.jpg
Every single pair of my Louboutins, Manolos and Choos have a set of Foot Petals in them. They make even the most painful stilettos feel soft and cushy! I love this Strut' N Style set because there are different sizes for different parts of the shoe. My feet are very narrow and slip out of pumps all the time so I need the heel cushion to keep them where they belong and the killer cushions keep my feet from sweating and slipping out of my 4" sandals plus they keep blisters at bay! You'll save money buying the entire set and believe me, you will use it all. Once you become addicted, no shoe will feel comfortable until you stick some petals in them! $44.95 for entire set.

Each set includes:
-One Pair Buttercup:
Killer Kushionz ~ full insole provides ultimate support and can be worn in open-toe shoes
Tip Toes ~ ball-of-foot cushion stops feet from sliding forward
Heavenly Heelz ~ back-of-heel cushion helps keep heels from slipping in and out of shoes
Strappy Strips ~ thin strips that add comfort to any straps

-Two Pair Buttercup Sole Stopperz ~ non-slip protects soles from wear and tear

-One Pair Buttercup Petal Plusheez ~ perfectly plush spa socks with petal shaped slip free tread that soothe and comfort your stressed out feet

The 80's are back in full force on the runways and cosmetic companies are following suit. Always on the cutting edge of cosmetic trends, MAC's latest C-Shock Collection delivers as promised, it is a shockingly bright array of brilliant hues that will delight the adventurous beauty snob! I remember the 80's all too well- electric blue eyeliner and pink white lipstick ruled my world in junior high and playing with this collection brought back some very fond memories. But unlike make up from the 80s, the C-Shock collection is full of wearable items that won't make you hide your photos in 10 years(other than the Blast O"Blue that is)! The juicy lipglosses in shades of coral and berry (Sheboom and Lil Sizzler) are sexy and fun and the vibrant eye shadows are just the thing to make your eyes pop for a fun evening out. The limited C-Shock collection is available at MAC stores and counters from June 18th-July 14th or you can check it out on MACcosmetics.com.

As we always say, we are on a mission to give away as many fabulous products as possible, so the first person to name this celeb with shocking pink hair will receive the entire C-Shock collection courtesy of MAC!!!
