So, we all know how I feel about the craziness that is BORBA water. (For those of you just tuning in – I kinda think the whole thing is a sham!) Now Coca-Coal is creating a skin-clearing beauty drink of their own! They’ve partnered with L’Oreal to make a tea based drink called Lumae that will “help woman care for their skin.” I don’t buy it. You mean to tell me that the same company who’s products my mother told me would “rot my teeth out,” is now making a product that will clear up the pimples caused by their soda? Healthy is trendy these days and no one wants to be behind that curve. I say to Coke, embrace your sugary, fizzy goodness!! When I’m having a bad day, (or a really good piece of pizza) I’ll reach for a Diet Coke before anything else, but when I’m trying to take care of my skin? I’ll stick to good ol’ h2o, thanks. • Careful about what information you put out there. There has yet to be a study that finds any firm, directy link between sugar consumption and acne. Any dermatologist will tell you that eating chocolate or drinking coke leading to pimples is a myth, though both are generally bad for your health. There is evidence that eating dairy can cause breakouts than any other factor in your diet! As a long-time acne-sufferer (though my skin is now clear! Thanks, birth control pill!), I've gotten the whole spiel on myths concerning the cause of pimples from several dermatologists, and I confirmed my memories of this with the wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acne_vulgaris

Anyway, I read this blog regularly, and I do think that you're doing a great job! Keep up the good work.

  • Yeah, they're all gimmicks! I only believe in my pu-er, green tea, and water water water. (and my omega vitamins of course)

  • I don't believe anything they say or claim from that company. Their drinks are just deadly sugar mix with CO2 (as we all know sugar makes you fat and CO2 makes you lose your calcium). To keep the skin youthful and beautiful I still choose to stick with my good old way, tons of water!!!
