Juice Beauty

I eat a lot of organic food. I try to keep things as simple and natural as I can when it comes to what I put in my body. When someone told me about Juice Beauty, an all natural, organic cosmetic line I was shocked I never thought to go green when it came to my skin care. With all natural ingredients that you can actually pronounce, Juice Beauty is trying to spread the word that organic is better. Their line is made with organically farmed products which mean that your makeup (and body!) is spared the potentially harmful toxins and chemicals found in other products. Right now the only major retailer they’re sold at is Sephora.com, but their entire line is available on their website www.juicebeauty.com. I’m planning on trying it soon, so I’ll let you guys know when I do, but in the meantime have any of you tried organic beauty products? What are your thoughts on the idea?

  • i tried their peel for a day and i must say it has a distinct odor to it.. i really couldn't tell the difference but it takes a little longer.
im using their redness remover now and it seems to be doing teh job.. though it is also taking a longer time.. juice beauty is not for instant results..

  • Dear Tina and Kelly!

Hi Hi! It's Karen from Hong Kong.

Apart from being a big fan of Chantecaille and SkinCeutical, I am a big fan of Organic Pharmacy - a UK brand - and one of the few truly organic skincare companies. So that's why i have been pestering you beauties to try their collagen boost mask and antit-oxidant serum+gel.

Anyhow, a few years back, some of my dermatologist friends have asked me to stop putting on YSL products, as their lipsticks contains a lot of lead. In addition, there are reports that deodorant that contains paraben will actually increase the chance of breast cancer!!! Since then, I have done a lot of research, and gathered that a lot of the brands that we are currently using have loads of carcinogenic elements. I read this report from EWG (Environment Working Group). Their website is very useful - they have done loads of research on different products and different brands.

Try to search for La Mer! I immediately stopped using La Mer when I saw the results.

The reason why I went Organic in skincare is because my skin is MEGA sensitive, and actually skincare with too much chemicals can have drastic allergic effect on me. So my doctors have asked me to go with SkinCeutical and organic skincare since I was young.

Honestly speaking, most of the organic skincare does not show immediate results. They actually never excite me until i met Organic Pharmacy.

The collagen boost mask - ALL my friends & family use it now. It shows immediate results. Also, the Anit-oxidant gel and anti-oxidant serum are known as the "organic bo-tox" in UK and in Asia. (though it is a little exaggerated, i have to admit, though some of my aunts with wrinkles did see an improvement...)

One drawback on Organic Pharmacy is that they do not advise on using nightcreams at night. It feels great in summer, but it could be a little drying in Winter. So i load up on Chantecaille and SkinCeutical in winter and back to Organic Pharmacy in summer.

A lot of brands claim to be "natural" including Chantecaille, but i would say they are only botanical... they still have elements like paraben in them....

Juice Beauty - i tried that end of last year. I think it is so so, better than Jurlique and Aesop but not as good as Organic Pharmacy. Good thing is - it is A LOT cheaper than Organic Pharmacy... But for me, effectiveness is more important... so I gave up on Juice Beauty and shift back to Organic Pharmacy...

Here is Organic Pharmacy's website FYI

Anyhow, one thing to remind you Tina and Kelly, when trying these organic brands, u need a little more patience... but it's all worth it!

Hope you do not mind me being long winded in sharing my view...

    Luv

    Karen (HK)

  • I'm with you on the organics- all I have been eating for years. I use a brand new brand called BeeCeuticals which is completely organic and will take the place of Burt's Bees. I tried their shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, face lotion, eye cream, lip balm (ok I tried everything). I really loved how it all worked and it felt very pure on my skin and body. It is a brand new brand that is just making its way into Whole Foods and other retailers

They have really good products. My favorites are the shower gels and the powersmile toothpaste.

I started using that toothpaste about 3 weeks ago and I already got compliments about my teeth looking whither, when mainstream whitening toothpastes using harsh chemicals didn't make a difference. plus I like that its minty but doesn't sting your tong!

  • Has anyone heard of the brand La Fleur Organique? It's new to the US and is part of the European lines now available in US through Walgreens. I heard about this on another blog and thought I would check it out. It says that all the various products are made containing organic ingredients produced by organic farming grown in Provence, France. I've only purchased the Anit-Aging Eye Cream and I have to say, I love it. I have tried countless eye creams and this seems to take the cake. It's silky texture, smells nice and is very firming. You can immediately feel it firming without making your skin feel tight or dry. At night time I put it on under my Bobbi Brown eye balm as I do need a little more moisture, especially in winter. I need to research a little more on the rest of their products, but with the eye cream at only approx. $35 you can't go wrong. I've spent over $100 on eye creams that don't do 1/2 the job, and then you feel like you wasted so much money. I will be trying other products of theirs.

Also bought at Walgreens (and believe me, I normally use Chantecaille, Chanel, Bobbi Brown, La Prairie Brands)a German line, ARTDECO, line of caviar products. Just bought the Caviar Lifting Mask and love that too, and the bonus is it's only $35! I may check out more of the European Beauty Collection that they carry.

  • you should check out my article on our magazine's website! i did a lot of research on organic beauty and i featured one of juice's products. i also added extra products for the web version of the story...

  • I recently bought into The Organic Pharmacy.. I bought the Virgin pressed rose hip oil to help reduce the acne scars..also bought the Scar Tissue to help reduce the acne scars.. It may take a little longer, but I really like the feel, and this rose hip oil helps to fight wrinkles (not really needed, since i'm not even 18 yet!) but also helps to hydrate the skin really well! I'm really loving this brand!!!

  • I really like the Juice Green Apple Peel

BTW, they sell some of the Juice Beauty stuff at Whole Foods.
